Offseason topic: UGA cheats

As we’ve discussed, UGA’s arrests are down this offseason so we’re reaching for interesting topics. Here’s one I want to fight about: someone prove me wrong that UGA HAS NEVER CHEATED.
They’ve never paid players under the table, never used corrupt booster networks to direct players to the program or hand out jobs, etc.
Someone give me one factual data point to prove me wrong. And no, Rush Propst hearsay doesn’t count.

"Cheating" is pretty broad. Like every other program, UGA has multiple minor NCAA violations every year. Contact with a recruit outside the appropriate time. Too many coaches assisting with a practice. Etc...
All minor violations, but could certainly argue any of those technically constitutes "cheating".

See, this is why NIL sucks. College football was better when team cheated. Screw the NCAA and what they did to SMU. SMU killed cheating with Dickerson and James.

I applaud your effort...or am I calling a timeout?

Are you really that native to believe UGA didnt give out their fair share of $10k "handshakes"

Haha. That’s pretty good. Was thinking more about unfairly stacking advantages in recruiting and breaking NCAA rules, rather than coaching efforts on the sideline in full view of the world, but you’re right they produce the same results.

Every major program in CFB has cheated in some way at some point

quote:Sure, technically, but I think we both know the challenge I’m presenting is with respect to identifying a lack of integrity of the program and uncovering credible evidence of an intention to deceive. Not a staffer accidentally texting a recruit outside of a window and then self-reporting: LINK

Just because Georgia hasn't been punished doesn't mean they haven't cheated.

And I am guessing you are a football only fan.

That’s a winner!
Academic fraud in the football program in the 1970’s (?) and early 80’s: instances of remedial courses grade changes.
Academic fraud in the basketball program in the 90’s: a staffer gave course credits to 3 no-shows.
So that sounds like the floor. Who can identify to me the ceiling for this corruption?
