Yeah because ole miss playing georgia state, the citadel, arkansas, kentucky, washington state....are real ballbusters
Wake forest is a bunch of bitches, we beat them so badly in 2024 they opted out of playing us in 2025 so we had to scramble to get the citadel to fill the spot .
But maybe you guys should join a conference instead of acting like ND is better than everyone else for no reason.

Your schedule was arse & you finished 1-2 against the only 3 marquee teams that you played.
You're talking to a conference full of teams whose schedules consist of LSU, Bama, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, etc. Playing a schedule full of Boston Colleges, Purdues & Stanfords is going to get you laughed at. And it should. Go look at Notre Dame's 2026 schedule and compare it to any team in the SEC. Even when the larger brand SEC teams are having down years - they're still packing in crowds of 85 -100k+ regularly for their home games with some of the best home environments in the country and can upset you. Your scheduling teams that struggle to fill a 50k seat stadium. It's a joke.

Nobody is going to feel sorry for Notre Dame. Take your pity party elsewhere. Notre Dame for once did not get their way and they have embarrassed themselves throwing these tantrums. I wish every school would refuse to schedule you all until you join a conference

It was never between Alabama and ND. That is just the narrative that ESPN pushed. It was really ND vs Miami. That was settled on the field. Like it or not, Alabama was the #1 seed in the toughest conference in America. End of story.

Daowna- And your Aggie schedule was worse than Notre Dames yet youre in the playoffs and you silly Aggie fans think you have a chance. You played two good teams...ND and Texas....you beat ND by 1 point and got beat by 10 against Texas....you played creampuffs the rest of your schedule. ND played 4 ranked teams....you played two.
This is what fans outside of the SEC dont understand you mention cream puffs rest of the schedule. In the SEC almost all teams even the cream puffs have fast , big dudes that can play the only difference is the lower teams dont have the dept of say a bama , UGA etc.. So if you dont bring your "A" game on the road any week you can lose in the SEC. Now lets look at ND creampuffs: purdue, MSU,NC state,BC ,navy,Stanford etc... Do you think any of those teams have near the Dudes to compete with ND? who recruits way better then any of those by a mile. Almost every team in the SEC recruiting classes usually are top 25 minus Vandy. Where does most of ND opponents land in recruiting ranking yearly . 40 to 100? Sure teams from the SEC schedule east louisiana state for a few games a year but when you consider having to play now 9 sec games a year in sec then i think it is well earned.

what a fricking joke
This is how the whole country sees ND right now. Your arrogance is either going to force you to join a conference, or the ND football team will become a g6 team.
And before you respond about some BS recruiting ranking or your TV money it will become irrelevant as well.
quote:
The 10–2 Irish didn’t rank among the top 10 most-watched college football teams this year, according to Nielsen. In fact, their average viewing audience of 3,925,000 viewers ranked them No. 15, behind Florida, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Florida State. And ahead of Vanderbilt, Missouri, Penn State, and Miami.
The most-watched team was Alabama, averaging more than double Notre Dame’s viewers at 8,493,000, followed by Texas, Georgia, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. Overall, SEC teams accounted for 4 of the 5 most-watched schools—and 8 of the top 10.
According to Nielsen, Notre Dame played in only one of the top 20 most-watched college football games this year. It drew a season-high 10.8 million viewers vs. Miami for its season opener on Aug. 31. Ironically, the committee pointed to that 27–24 road loss to the Hurricanes as the reason the Irish didn’t make the playoff cut. Even Notre Dame’s 34–23 victory over rival USC on Oct. 18 didn’t pop a big number. NBC’s broadcast averaged 2,998,000 viewers, trailing three SEC matchups on ABC: 6,046,000 for Mississippi-Georgia; 4,913,000 for Alabama-Tennessee; and 3,875,000 for LSU-Vanderbilt.
Last season, Notre Dame had a magical season, going 14–2 before falling to Ohio State in the national championship game. The telecast’s average viewership of 22.1 million viewers on ABC made it the CFP’s most-watched game of the season. But it was still down 12% from Michigan’s win over Washington in 2024. And the third-lowest audience among all 11 CFP title games.
The money is based off TV ratings which continue to drop. NBC is not a major player in CFB like the other networks. You have ADs now suggesting to no longer schedule ND if they are not in a conference. If ND is left to schedule only g6 teams those ratings will continue to drop. When they drop so does the money. If ND is not in the playoffs the recruits will no longer come as well.
Maybe you are new to CFB or just as arrogant as so many ND fans to see that those gold helmets no longer have the ROI they once did and everyone outside of ND could care less if you ever make the playoffs.

Join a conference if they’d have you. Case closed.

Join a conference and win, or shut the frick up. It’s that simple.

ND should just join the ACC.
They already played 6 ACC teams this year. One of their rivals (Stanford) is in the ACC.
Join the ACC. Stanford is a permanent opponent.
USC is a permanent OOC opponent.
This year they could play A&M and Navy OOC
Drop Purdue, Arkansas and Boise State.
Add 3 ACC games.
Schedule is not meaningfully different. Then you can win the ACC and get a slot.
And please don't try to pretend that games against Arkansas, Boise State or Purdue are important.
ND has played Purdue 3 times in the last decade with their current scheduling freedom. They aren't an important rival.

God I hope the rumors of ADs freezing out ND are true.
Y’all are the worst kind of arrogant, entitled, and delusional.

Yeah ND schedules a couple of good teams....the problem is there is no grind at all. Between the 2-3 good teams is a bunch of cupcake programs that dont care about football. ND homers want you to believe that playing 5-7 Auburn who were dangerously close to beating 3 different playoff teams....is same as 5-7 Rutgers
Our mid teams are full of very good players go will kick your arse if your team isnt laser focused for every game. They will also physically beat you down over a long season

1) join a conference if you want the benefit of the doubt
2) while schedules are made years in advance you can assume a blue blood will be decent, you have scheduled teams that have been nobodies so very unlikely they are going to transition to a decent team like Indiana in a few years.
3) you intentionally took on the “us against the world” mentality. This is what that looks like. You may have more tv revenue than anyone else but you alienated everyone in the process, I should know I’m a Texas fan.
4) don’t be surprised if your little top 12 deal next year is renegotiated or removed. This will happen again or you will schedule light that you will get in every year playing no one until the ADs of power conferences freeze you out.

Funny, since UGA has scheduled more P4/P5 OOC games since the NCAA went to 12 regular season games than any other SEC team.
UGA actually schedules the TOUGHEST OOC schedules in the SEC.

If you think ADs and coaches aren't taking notice of your whiny arrogance this year, don't know what to tell you, Dave. You threw the ACC folks under the bus cause they had the audacity to advocate for an actual member of the conference over the Dame (while seeming to imply your volleyball, golf, soccer, etc teams should be appreciated because ... it's the Dame!). You're now shopping around for another partial conference deal that let's you do the same thing cause you're made at the ACC. You're scared to play in a conference title game while claiming the guaranteed 6 creampuffs you play each year should be sufficient. You're not among the top 15 most watched programs in the country, even after last year's run, but you think you still have a national brand that should automatically qualify you for the playoffs.
GTOH with your "you don't understand".

I’ve said for decades that Notre Dame schedules light.
Sure, there are 3 or 4 each year that could be tough. Or not.
The remaining 8 or 9 opponents have a large chance of being mediocre or worse, every year.
I promise when Indiana was added to Notre Dame’s upcoming schedules, that ND didn’t think they were getting a power. They thought they were getting one of the worst programs in the NCAA during a typically awful year for them.
