re: Ca Dem Senator Wiener casually labels sex offenders as “minor crimes”

Fresno Democratic Assemblymember Esmeralda Soria wrote the proposal after registered sex offender Rene Campos tried to run for Fresno City Council. He pleaded no contest in 2018 to a misdemeanor charge of being in possession to child sex abuse material.
Soria's proposal aimed to block anyone listed in California’s three-tiered sex offender registration system from running for office. Tier One offenders remain on the registry for up to 10 years, Tier Two for up to 20 years, and Tier Three for life.
Democratic State Senator Scott Wiener, chairman of the Senate Elections Committee, expressed concerns about the bill’s broad scope. Wiener said he would only support the measure and allow it to move forward if it applied exclusively to Tier Three offenders. Soria declined to accept the amendment, and the bill failed.
Democrats seem to want to shoot themselves in the foot everytime they have a chance.

Nobody's done a better job with limited releases the past five years than JD, BT's antique collection included.

Disagree.

Straight up WWF vibes. Very good opening shot where there looks to be the possibility of some kind of neck wrench (I looked up WWF moves for this). Bit of a narrative from everybody involved. Like the contrast of big/heavy vs lighter/more popular.
Very much enjoyed this.

My friends make fun of me because I went down the rabbit hole reading about rabies, particularly from bats, and it is terrifying.
Bats' teeth are so tiny that you can't tell if you've been bitten by looking at yourself, and you can't really feel it when it happens either (so, say you're asleep).
On top of that, rabies can lie dormant for a long time before it presents itself, so you may have it and not even know. By the time you do know, it is too late and you're a goner.
IIRC (and I'll look it up after typing this), there've been two cases (one a bit recently) where someone had rabies and survived (w/out the shot).

If you wake up in a room with a bat, always assume the bat bit you and get a rabies vaccine.
Bout 30 years ago, there was a horrible story I read from OK bout a boy whose window had been left slightly open at night (I guess they didn't have screens, though that seems odd in the South). Can't remember specifically, but I think they chased the bat out of the room and did not know/notice/expect he'd been bitten. Rabies is the one thing that you don't play around with, esp regarding bats.

That's horrible. When you read stories about bats/rabies, it seems to always be a kid.

I think it's pretty good. Best ever? Nah, but pretty good. There are some straight inedible food chains. You want Long John Silvers over Zaxbys?
The one near our house is always packed. It's also really clean and they hire polite high school kids to work there like the old days of fast food. Good experience.
That's what I was thinking, but I assume it's an ownership issue/franchise thing. I go to mine about four times a year and have never had anything that approaches a bad experience or bad food, though it's chicken fingers and fries. Not sure there's a way to mess that up to a large extent.

I don't think it's Alabama. I know it's Louisiana, no two ways about it.
Ontario boy dies from rabies from bat

Woke up to a bat lying on his face. Dad/parents don't see any bite/scratch marks, so they don't get the shots. Horrible story. Don't know WTF the parents were thinking to feel they didn't need to take him in for rabies shots.

re: Why does it feel like we’re letting Iran dictate everything to us?
Posted by deltadummy on 7/1/26 at 1:04 pm to cbree88
They aren't dictating anything to us. We have destroyed their nuclear program, have complete control of the SoH and have them literally quaking in their boots since we have forced them to surrender billions of dollars and instituted regime change at will.

"Ethical".
You mean - don't vote along Constitutional and limited government principles, but submit to a personality?
You mean - favor the long way around that is Constitutional instead of the short way that favors more authoritarianism?
