I just wonder if UK would put up any major resistance and try to block UNC for joining the SEC. Right now UK is the basketball power of the SEC. Bringing in a BBall blue blood like UNC and that could ruffle some feathers in Lexington.

Not when UNC joining is going to bring UK more money. You can't look at this and think like a fan. Think like a businessman.

It's not that they're tight nit schools. It's that their state legislatures have threatened in the past that they have to stay together.

Someone make a meme of Mr. Fantastic saying "The Pac 12 is trying to make an alliance with the ACC" and Have Wanda say "What ACC?"

V tech and NC State would fit much better culturally than UNC and Virginia

Who is going to pay the $36 million?

If it were to happen, I see Virginia Tech, NC State instead of UVA and UNC. UNC will not leave without Duke. UVA is as woke as those Austin types.

I would much prefer VA Tech to UVA from a culture and football interest standpoint.

But this makes sense if:
-Clemson/UVA/UNC/FSU go SEC
-GA Tech and Miami or NC St/Va Tech go B1G

That means 6+ teams have left and the GOR is null and void.

For those who care about academics, adding UVA, UNC, Texas and even Clemson to a lesser degree to the SEC would be an incredible profile and research boost.

I told y'all UVA is the prize and not VA Tech. You can't get more old south than UVA. UVA has the academic prestige and money and geography to bring their football team back to respectability. UVA is a bigger media draw than VA Tech. UVA also has a large alumni base even in the original SEC footprint.

That’s for the court to decide

I do think in the long run NCST adds more value than Clemson
Clemson's a much bigger brand name than North Carolina St.

Plus VT is 1 of 2 P5 schools with 0 titles Haven't done much on their athletic front aside from being better than UVA in football

But it isn't about culture, its about money. UNC is a leading brand in athletics.

And while UVA isn't a powerhouse in football, they are good in other sports. The expanded SEC will have plenty of football powers still.

We've been king of the hill in the SEC for 80 years now and aren't planning on giving that up; UNC in the league or not!

Surprised that GT and Louisville aren’t in this group. Those two joining would exponentially help with conference scheduling since those two have to play an SEC opponent annually. It would eliminate the “too many P5 teams on our schedule excuse” from Georgia and UK and allow us to schedule at least 9 or 10 conference games.

Would also be surprised if Virginia takes off without VT; or UNC takes off without the other Tobacco Road teams.

South Carolina, Clemson and UNC into close quarters. We all fricking HATE each other.

Will be fun to watch. Reminds me of the Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M hate triangle.

Louisville + FSU would greatly exceed the amount of trash/thuggery I'm willing to accept in this conference

I see this as a defensive move against B1G expansion in the Southeast as well. 3 of the 4 are AAU schools.

People always pull for NCST, which I'm not against in theory, but I just don't understand it. I rarely encounter them in SEC country, and the brand is absolutely tiny. I'm sure they are good folks, however.

If a 5th ACC team were to come in or one of the four being mentioned decides to go elsewhere it would be Louisville and not VA Tech that I'd want. Louisville is a school with more alums and money than you'd think. Trust me Louisville brings more to the table than VA Tech.

I don't get it either. I've never heard people mention NCSU as much.

Block Clemson. Trust me you don't want them in here. They are more annoying than Aggie
