If LSU pays 15M for Riley then they are a special kind of stupid

Should we pay him $10 million and NEVER make the SEC Championship game, much less the playoffs?

Yes

I don’t know why most people don’t see the obvious

OU has very little chance of making a four team playoff from the SEC

At best

OU will be the fourth best team in the SEC

OU has the same recruiting ceiling as LSU.

Why are you being such a homer?

So basically LSU has to pay more than other programs.

I have heard a big reason LR is considering LSU ks because OU doesn’t pay assistant coaches very well. LSU certainly doesn’t mind spending money on ACs

Is this true OU fans?

Possibly but considering the coaching results they are overpaying as it is. Grinch made $1.8M as DC last year, OL Coach made $810k. Of course no OC as Riley did that. I highly doubt the lack of pay for assistants is a "big" reason. His $3M+ increase is. I will say that when Oklahoma gets into the SEC they will definitely have a much easier recruiting pitch to defensive talent. That is what has really hurt them in the last 12+ years.

There is no one on this board that would not take $10-12M vs $7M regardless of the situation. If your employer offered $3M+ a year to move to Siberia you would do it. Think about it folks. Give me one reason he would say no?

I could make more money just by working more hours and going to an office daily.

But money isn't everything and free time is undervalued by most.

Okay so coming in to the SEC I think OU is fine with being at that spot. 4th best still has a chance to win the SEC. Also 4th best is still above where LSU currently is, so why would he leave for a rebuild.

Hell no! Wouldn't move to Baton Rouge for 4M+ a year.

Doesn't seem right to me.

Chesapeake was the big oil company up there and they went bankrupt so I don’t know if they can even tap in to big oil money.

Technically DVN, WMB, and CLR are all larger but I get your point. CHK threw the money around when it came to donations.

But to the point....if true I hope OU doesnt try and match. These dudes get paid way too much for the shite product on the field.

Because LSU just fired their Coach 17 games after Winning the national title, who would do anything for the school. Yet kept a Basketball coach who’s been investigated by the FBI and still hasn’t won anything near as close.
