There is no one on this board that would not take $10-12M vs $7M regardless of the situation. If your employer offered $3M+ a year to move to Siberia you would do it. Think about it folks. Give me one reason he would say no?

If I was living in Florida and making 7 million a year. There is ZERO chance I would move to Siberia for 3 million more.

Pretty clear Lincoln is using LSU to get more money from OU.

If Jimmy Sexton's his agent, Okie better start reaching for their checkbook!

Would he really do that?

Doesn't seem right to me.

The only thing I prefer about Lincoln over Jimbo is Lincoln at least runs a modern offense.

However, much like Jimbo, he already has similar resources as he'd have at LSU and just can't get it done.

I'd rather take a chance on an up and comer.

How would you feel about Tomlin, Dabo, Belichick, or Tom Landry?

Ooo, ooo, ooo - I just a great thought. I bet Grand Admiral Thrawn would be a kick arse football coach. Yall should get him!

Exactly. Riley is already coaching at one of the biggest brands in the sport and making a very comfortable living doing so; I could see him and his peers leaving for a more prestigious program/a crazy challenge (Riley hasn't won enough to want that)/their dream school, but unlike Fortune 500 CEOs I don't think they're driven quite as much by cash as they are by generally wanting to be the best.

I've turned down a job offering almost double the salary. Without much thought really.

And, double my salary would mean a hell of a lot more than $3 more million to someone who already makes $7 million.

No shot he goes to LSU where he can be fired 2 years post a national title vs Oklahoma where he can win a lot of games each year

Besides the cash…. He has better recruiting territory than OU. He’s already headed to the SEC within a matter of years so why not jump in now for a 75% pay increase?
I was Team Napier but now Team Riley because I didn’t think it was possible before.

Money talks fellas. LSU has been way more successful than OU in the last 20 years when it comes to championships. While I feel Riley likes it at OU he will leave b/c he will be offered a lot more money. Also throw in the fact that he will have a better chance at winning a Natty at LSU it is a no brainer. He is leaving imo.

Riley just says look at my past statements about this.......

Bob Stoops was on his way to Florida twice, according to Rumors.....

No HC will leave OU for LSU.....

You guys might want to get Mike Gundy from Okie St. He would be dynamite at LSU.

No reason to, it's a lateral transfer as far as resources go.

Crisp.....don't you know it!!! When a study is done 20-30 years ago researching the high cost of collegiate athletics all the way down to $10 cold hot dogs, it will be all traced back to Sexton

I will say that Jimbo's statements about not being interested have been far more effusive than Riley's. But, again, I think that's just cuz Riley wants more money from OU, while A&M already gave it to Jimbo, with forethought in September.
