imagine being such a jilted, chimp-minded moron thinking only Bama was paying players when schools up north were actively RAPING people and covering it up. STFU

There are survivors of the Cambodian killing fields who are less traumatized by their experiences than certain online LSU fans are by Saban's time at Bama.

They did cover the Miami Dolphins/Brees fiasco, including an interview with Drew.

I’ve always been a big supporter of Saban, but I must say the documentary has lessened my view of him overall.

Certainly the failures (the few there are) seem to be glossed over to some degree. I was happy to hear him take responsibility for the Kick 6, but thought he downplayed firing Kiffin before the National Championship loss.

In the end, I learned that Saban is just a man, like the rest of us. Time and place and luck and work ethic play huge roles in our successes or failures.

And finally, yes, Scott Cochran is as big of an a-hole as I believed.

maybe im in the minority but i prefer assholes on a football team. Bama needs to rehire Cochran to instill some toughness and attitude. Theyve been as soft as baby shite recently, and that includes some of Saban's final years.

Did the producers just conveniently forget the entire 2005–2006 Miami Dolphins era, or did Saban’s lawyers write the script?

You clearly haven't watched it?

They cover it in the last episode. Wouldn't say it even paints him in a good light at all

[quote]Clayton said black kids hated LSU[/quote

That’s a pretty incredible statement when you consider the number of Louisiana black kids who played sports at LSU in the years prior to Clayton arriving.

One being my friend, Michael Brooks who always wanted to play football at LSU

Brees is not a good fit for Saban (and vise versa), I think the Brees/Peyton was a great intersection for both...

Hahaha. Brees even says in the interview that Coach Saban knew I was his type of player. Cut from a hard work and discipline ethic.

I swear, some of you just talk out of your asses on here

Why would anyone want to work in their 70s

To stay alive.

Doctors now know that working past retirement has health benefits.

The secret though is being able to do it at your own pace which being the HC of a D1 football program doesn’t afford.

Let the man go play golf and drive his boat. He earned it.

The worse part to me is that the documentary totally glossed over the LSU 2004 season. It conveniently shifts from the 2003 championship to the Dolphins leaving the impression that he was finished with the LSU turnaround.

As the great recruiter and program builder, with almost all guys he recruited in his 4th year, LSU went 9-3, got blown out by Georgia and ended by losing to Iowa in the Capital One Bowl. He didn't have an SEC-level quarterback. Also almost lost to Troy.

Yet Saban gave himself a lot of credit for LSU's 2007 championship team saying it had mostly his players and he did not hand over a top 10 program to Miles. Not a good look for Nick so lets hide that from those not familiar with the program.

One title at LSU.
Seven at Alabama.
Yea, whatever.

The race relations piece I have to laugh. Howard Schnellenberger at Miami said he went to Liberty City to visit a recruit and asked some kids on the corner where his house was.

He pulls up and the kid is on the porch and says hey coach. Schnellenberger said, how did you know I was coming. He said one of the kids in the neighborhood saw you, said he must be a coach aint no other white man come in this neighborhood.

Pretty obvious you didn’t watch all the episodes. They spent a lot of time talking about the Dolphins years and interviewing Ricky Williams.

When people tell their story it is going to be from their viewpoint. Because that's all they know. So of course the way he viewed situations wasn't going to be the same as someone else who viewed it from their viewpoint. I was just surprised they showed sides of Saban and situations where it didn't paint him a good light. Let's be honest, Nick and Terry probably watched the entire thing before signing off on it. So, for them to let some of the things stay that simply didn't paint him in a good light, says something. His wife is a very, very smart and level headed person. Even if Nick didn't, I know she saw things in that documentary that didn't paint her husband in a good light and she let it stay. Most people wouldn't do that. My guess is a documentary of your life put on display to the world would have more filters than Saban's did.

Looking too much into it. I have no doubt NIL and the portal was the final straw, but what more did he have to prove. in his 70's, wealthy and loved. I don't blame him and I'm not mad he was great at cheating. He had a process that dominated the game. Hats off to him.

He did the same thing at LSU, only it was Cadillac Escalades back then. I almost got ran over one day by a convoy of about 5 escalades when walking to a testing hall. I almost started to mouth off but then all the escalades illegally parked and about a dozen football players poured out and walked towards some food hall.

Dude stop. The dolphins outside of 1972 have been historically bad
Uh, no

Remember some dude named Don Shula? You know, NFL alltime winningest coach?
He was at Miami 26 years. 11 division titles, 16 playoff appearances, 10 wins a year on average (and this includes a few 14 game seasons), 5 Super Bowl appearances with 2 titles. If you look it up, the Dolphins were the winningest team in the NFL during his tenure. So I'd have to disagree with them being "historically bad"

I said it when it happened, he tried because he did not think he could beat AU in over time. Glad to hear him it saying it.

I thought he seemed to regret. Maybe not because of Kiffin personally but how it disrupted the focus of the team.
