The Bama standard has been on a decline since 2021 and was on life support when Saban retired.

I could’ve sworn he had passed years ago.
There’s only one transfer portal window now and it has officially closed. There are still thousands of players in there looking for a new home that we could sign but no new entries.
These last few years have aged us all.

A true master class of an experience roster who refused to lose. Hats off to them.
I mean if they’re going to be paid to play, we need contracts and structure similar to the NFL. Hold the players accountable for their performance, if they’re fail to live up to expectations or portal out before fulfilling the contract then they must repay every dime or lose eligibility.

Try 300lbs and is a very solid young player with at least 2-3 more years to play college ball.

Too 5 on paper but sure as hell not too 5 where it counts. The ship has been taking on water since 2021-2022 and you cannot deny that. People forget the 21/22 title game where we couldn’t find one semi skilled player on the roster to at least make a catch. In 2022 we couldn’t string together 3 consecutive plays without 30 yards of false start penalties.

I recognize the sarcasm but I will say this. He did deserve a year 3 and maybe even a 4th before we make the decision to fire him. The issues we see started back in 2021/2022 during Saban’s last few years. By year 3 or 4 DeBoaet will have his players in place and we would have a much clearer picture of whether he’s the man or not.
