If UAB was smart, they would start scheduling a few more thursday and friday night games. I would 100% buy season tickets and go to those games.

Excellent idea.

Meh, there are positives and negatives. Hard to know which will win out, but Covid and the riots have really hurt. Downtown, which had really revitalized, is now a ghost town. It may not recover.

I'm curious to see how many of those cool restaurants and bars that have recently come to Bham survive all of this. Between the moronic mayor and the county health commissar, it's been a clownshow for Bham and Jefferson County as of late. They seem to be doing everything possible to crush businesses downtown.

Yep, and a lot of recently built "loft" and "flats" apartments are going to be vacant. There are going to be some developers left holding the bag.

Fixed it for you so no one is left out.

Guess I could fill in the blanks there for every city I’ve lived in. It’s funny how people are so down on their cities when all places have pretty much the same leadership issues.

Just couldn’t let someone make a positive comment without adding that huh? It was killing you.

Why is Birmingham wasting their money on a football stadium for a team with no fanbase unless it's popular for activism, and a tier 3 bowl game?

That is a very good question

They should have built it bigger than 46K!

I believe it has the capability to add another 12-15k for certain events.

Not really. I live here and like it. But for someone to say Bham is on the uptick is not based in reality.

Not really. The ones walking distance are in Uptown, and that place has struggled attracting quality places.

It is close enough to downtown that several bars and restaurants are a short drive/Uber away, or a fairly long walk.

I pregamed for a couple of concerts in Uptown and had a great time. Couple of decent spots to eat especially on a Gameday

Can we get a Birmingham Stallions revival for the next spring league attempt? I'm a fan of the uniforms even though they kind of look like the Niners' LINK

The guy in that photo is former Auburn star running back Joe Cribbs. He made the Pro Bowl a couple of times with the Buffalo Bills. I bought an old Porsche years ago in Houston that he apparently bought new during his professional career at Birmingham. His name was on the original bill of sale that was included.

Do you even live in Birmingham or even the metro area?

I love it when some redneck who lives out in the sticks 2 hours away and hasn't been to Birmingham since that time they had to pick up Mawmaw from her chemo at UAB in 2006 tries to make a negative comment about Bham like they know jack shite

Looks nice and well thought out. It should help UAB increase their fanbase and will definitely be better for the Birmingham Bowl and high school playoffs than Legion Field.

Sorry that my different opinion triggered you. Have lived here and worked downtown 30+ years, and seen lots of changes in the Bham area and downtown in particular. Some good, some not so much. We'll see how it plays out, but Woodfin hurt the city IMO.
