Not really sure about the order I put them in bc I'm half asleep at work but hell, I tried.

You know who I feel bad for? Dylan Thompson. Yeah, he was no Shaw nor did he have enough starts to ever put him in the conversation as one of our top QBs but his 2014 offense was statistically the best we've ever had... unfortunately that year was also statistically the worst defense we've ever had so the season finished 7-6 I think. He also scored wins over UF, UGA, and Clemson.

In addition to:

Couch
Lorenzen
Woodson

You would have to add the greatest one of all, Babe Parelli, and also Derek Ramsey would have to get mention.
Randall Cobb didn't play QB much, but he was a better QB than most.

This list will be painful

1.) Dak

2.) Don Smith
3.) Fitz
4.) John Bond
5.) Chris Relf
6.) Wayne Madkin
7.) Sleepy Robinson
8.) Derrick Taite
9.) Tyler Russell
10.) Greg Plump

Actually you forgot to put the QB is all time #1 at State.

Jackie Parker

All SEC 1952, 1953
All-American 1953
SEC MVP 1952, 1953
His record of 120 points in 1952 stood in the SEC until Garrison Hearst broke it in 1992 (he played 12 games compared to Parker’s 10).
In addition to QB he was the leading PR in 1953 and KR in 1952-53.
He still holds some school records including:
Highest career yards per pass attempt (8.518).
Most points in a single game (29)
Most total points responsible for (168 in 1952)

He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

He later had a great career with Edmonton/Toronto/BC in the CFL.

He is a member of the CFL Hall of Fame and was voted the third best CFL player of all time.

I am just scratching the surface. I love Dak but a guy named Jackie Parker was every bit as good or better than Dak. I could see the list being:
1A-Dak Prescott
1A-Jackie Parker

Dave Marler, from the 70s...has to be on this list. He was throwing TD passes to a receiver named Marty Mcdole. Led the SEC in passing one year

quite true. I mentioned it in another topic not too long ago - DT17 led the SEC in Passing in his only year starting for Carolina - ahead of the current Dallas Cowboys QB. what Spurrier was able to do with Dylan in 2014 was vintage HBC.

if ranked by career QB rating (300+ pass attempts)...

Connor Shaw
Dylan Thompson
Syvelle Newton
Jake Bentley
Bobby Fuller (our forgotten gunslinger)
Blake Mitchell
Steve Taneyhill
Mike Hold
Stephen Garcia

Bobby Fuller (our forgotten gunslinger)

Bobby was a good QB. I sure will never forget him because he sort of saved us at the time. Transferred in from App State with Sparky Woods and good Lord Bobby took a beating and kept on ticking at times.

He could chunk it around and he was fairly mobile, He probably didn’t have the best supporting cast and was thrown to the wolves.

Allen Mitchell was another one I considered and he and Mike Hold shared duty. Allen was a good friend. I hate we lost him the way we did. I went to his funeral.

Both of those guys were good. I’m just not sure they’re Top Ten imho.

Anthony Wright didn’t win enough ball games given his talent but I blame so much of that on his coaches and his lack of a supporting cast, He was obviously very talented and spent a lot of years in the NFL. Glad he survived the recent shooting up in Concord.
