Very solid post.

There is this trope that comes up a lot that Manziel made his bones by just chunking it up to Evans. In his second, year, that idea took off with a couple of throws in the Bama game (though not the "jump ball" play).

His freshman (Heisman) year, Evans had the most receiving yards, but not by a huge margin. Swope was second, and had more touchdowns. Evans was still pretty raw at that point. It was only his second year of playing football at any level.

Swope had that deceptive "white boy" speed, too. In the Cotton Bowl against OU, he turned a short dump into the backbreaker TD by outrunning the DB's to the corner.

In my completely biased opinion, one of the best tackles of all time.

Kevin Faulk was a beast. Probably my favorite non-Bama player ever.

Marcus Lattimore, there was no arm tacking that cat. Hard to believe it's now been over 10 years.

First one I thought of. Dude was a beast.

Walter Lewis of Alabama. Dude basically single handedly beat OM one year.

I don't think thats biased. That one of the greatest tackles of all time and you should defend that without feeling like your OM fandom is the reason for the opinion.

I still hold that Willis doesn't belong in this thread because he is WAY to memorable.

He was really good, but i think everyone knew he was really good. He was one of the top players in the nation coming out of high school. I took the thread as underrated players people didnt talk about that much. I would say someone like mckonkey the last few years or washaun ealey for UGA.

McConkey would be a great pick for non-Dawg fans.

Washaun Ealey was never a threat.

Felix Jones - Arkansas.

McFadden gets most of the mentions on this board and for good reason because he was a monster. But Felix Jones was pretty damn scary in his own right.

He got off the bus in 2005 predicting that he would run for 200 yards against LSU and then went out and did it. Somehow LSU, because Au's kicker missed 5 field goals, won that game in OT anyway.

Yeah, wish we had recruited him more. Grew up in Westlake as a big Longhorns fan. Has a real estate company now.

Well, since basketball has started I'll go with Buck Johnson of Alabama. Great player. Had some great games with Dale and Wimp in the mid 80s and Johnson always had great games.
