One of the problems with judging Texas talent is that, a lot of times, Texas talent is overrated.
I don't know why that is. I used to think it was because of how much influence Bobby Burton had in rating Texas talent .... he was a horrible judge of talent. But I'm not sure now.
I know Texas produces some great OLinemen and occasionally a great RB or a really good QB, etc., .... and they always have a ton of kids go D1 because of their sheer numbers.
But follow the really highly rated Texas HS players and unless they are OLinemen they almost always seem to be overrated.
This is only true for players committed to the fricking longhorns. (manipulating rankings)
Von Miller was a 3-star.
List the most overrated Texas players. See where they went to college.

I post nothing but objective facts in response to a thread that stated that A&M routinely had top 10 classes, and this is the kind of response LSU fans post. Some of y’all are sick.
I distinctly remember your “I hate Louisiana and its trashy Cajun culture thread on the scoreboard”. Not sure why you’re surprised Louisiana hates you back.

I RAed by the way, but I don’t expect mods to do anything.
Since you hate Louisiana so much, maybe hang out on a board with less LSU fans?
ETA: Found it.

I'll be honest with you. I hate the swamp trash culture that is Louisiana and LSU and Coach O. So much trash. Yall prolly gonna win, and your team is good, but I hate your team and your culture and your fans and your coaches. You're the worst. The absolute worst. Total trash. You not only cheat and lie, you celebrate your cheaters and liars. It's part of your culture, it's in your politics, it's in your blood. It's just the worst.

So what will be y'all's excuse when Jimbo doesn't win the SEC or national championship? Y'all have more excuses and try to spin things to make yourselves look good. Just STFU and win. I know y'all have always had this over inflated sense about yourselves, but it's gotten way worse since Jimbo arrived. He's not the Messiah and outside of 2013 and 2014, what has he done to make you think he's building some national power? Look at what shape he left FSU in

’ve never seen anyone brag about subpar recruiting like this.
It’s actually not bragging. It’s a “please reduce your expectations on aggy......again” thread because some of his baws in the rant inflated theirs after 74-72.
Meanwhile, LSU just over here having the best season of all time.

Ha! I speak for myself.
They’re adults; they can speak for themselves.
Of course I don’t hold the exact same views as every other Ag on here.
Your comment reminds me of folks who go after a politician who doesn’t singularly call out every boneheaded idea articulated by every single one of his supporters.
Signed,
Another dumb Aggie

All last off season y’all were chirping about how good your defense was going to be and how Mond was gonna be a beast with the WR’s y’all had. I am not going to go back and dig through random Alabama/aTm post histories to find it

I find you to be a very reasonable LSU poster.
But honest to goodness, I think you have our fans confused with another university’s—and I’m not being snarky.
To a man, we’ve said Coach Fisher’s first three years would be average at best, and that year 4 is when we’d likely see his system emerge.
Last off-season, we all knew darn well how 2019 would unfold.
Don’t confuse publications that touted some of our players (e.g., Mond) with Ag posters.
I don’t blame you for not wanting to dig up old threads; but I think if you did, you’d find that you are misremembering what was (and/or wasn’t) said.

Not saying Texas doesn’t produce good players but there is some truth to this. We've seen Florida, FSU and Miami be elite at the same time several times. Auburn and Alabama... NEVER Texas and Texas A&M at the same time. OU (lots of Texas players) and UT have been good at the same time but rarely. These days OU is good but can’t stay on the field with the really elite teams.

And I find you to be a very levelheaded poster as well, wiling to actually discuss sports.
I appreciate the sentiment and I get what you’re saying but it almost sounds like you’re calling me the smartest guy with half a brain.
I very well could be wrong about the aTm fan base but I could swear that Old Sarge and Agzwin and Farmer were on here before hand thumping their chest about jimbo massively upgrading the talent and making this a contender.

Some if it may be that Texas has more highschool football “programs” as opposed to teams. A lot of these schools polish players very well to the point they are better than the others, but may be at their ceilings.
I have nothing to back this up other than anecdotal observations.

No problem with you speaking for yourself. But taking a blind eyed to others who supposedly went to the same college & hold the same values? I guess you are better than me in regards to being THAT politician (playing all sides) but hold less in core values. I’ll leave it at that.

Not that mixed. Some great, most very, very good, one that barely made a bowl.
At the tail end of Jimbo’s time at FSU they still were pulling Top 5 classes, but they were mediocre his last couple years and Taggart had a significant rebuild pretty quickly.

If your dumbass would have looked at what I said earlier...you know...about classes ranked in the top 20 that stayed intact and were developed should be good. You want me to know about your school from years ago...but you can't read my post in this damn thread from a few hours ago...moron !!!!!
Just as I thought. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. The 2013 class barely have anyone left. Same with the 2014 class.

It wasn’t a backhanded compliment—I promise!
I absolutely am not going to claim to be right and accuse you of being wrong.
Certainly there’s a chance that posts were made to which you were witness that I didn’t see.
But I can confidently say that, on the whole, what you describe (re: expectations) wasn’t the norm of what most Ags thought years 1-3 would be.
Saying that, trolls—maroon and otherwise—do exist.

Shhhh don’t say this. It’s the elephant in the room for Aggies. Despite going 7-5 in his latest regular season.

Just because we graduated from the same university, doesn’t mean 100,000+ of us hold the same views.
I think I’ve been pretty outspoken about my views on the nastiness and anemic moderation around here.
That certainly includes Ags.
But yes, I’m most definitely biased towards A&M and will more than likely hold my tongue where my brothers are concerned.
Peace.

One conflicting paragraph. Don’t hold the same values but I don’t question.
