It’s ok if your losses are to top 15 teams...... but A&M went 0-5! By odds alone a top 25 team steals at least one. The National Champion beat 5 of the final top 8 by 20 points on average. In the SECW everyone plays a tough schedule. A&M wasn’t exactly settling the world on fire vs easier opposition in the B12.

I have nothing to back this up other than anecdotal observations.
Sounds logical. These big Texas programs expose players to perform under more pressure and gives them more exposure itself. That tends to make them darlings for the rankings. They may be more developed but not necessarily have better raw talent than players from a lot of other states states. Generally speaking of course.

But you must hold the talent. That’s the most important part.

He also put that they finished third in the 2019 247 composite, when actually the school that he loathes because he couldn't get in there finished 3rd.
Poor aggies.

One of the problems with judging Texas talent is that, a lot of times, Texas talent is overrated.

This is only true for players committed to the fricking longhorns.
D'Onta Foreman won the Doak Walker award in 2016 after he was recruited as a 2-star. Try again squirt.
Maybe the team that has also recruited top 10 nationally and has NEVER WON ANYTHING since WWII, combined with the fact that they have LOST AT LEAST 4 GAMES IN 19 OF THE LAST 20 SEASONS is evidence that A&M's recruits are quite overrated as well?
Y'all's tears off of a recruiting website's rankings are some of the best tasting tears in all of Aggie culture/failure, and think about how much that is saying...

I’m so sick of excuses for Texas A&M. Eventually you are what are and they are and 8-5 program
They want to be recognized as "on par" with the rest of their superiors, it's adorable

Dude, don't you wish you had a life? You, over the last 6 years, have averaged slightly more than 5 posts/day on this site.

This is a great point and one I agree with. We see it again and again with Texas players, especially ones from major high schools in the state.

Jimbo is a good recruiter. You guys are in a talented state. I believe you guys will be in the playoffs sooner than later. This is coming from a LSU fan

Jimbo, has never done a thing, when he didn't have Jameis Winston.
the same will continue. Jimbo will eventually be fired at A&m and go down as the worst contract ever.

A&M needs to win 10 games this season, with or without a bowl victory. Not saying they can't win more, but that is a realistic goal that should be met with this year's schedule.

The perpetual lie. They have been on the brink for 80 years.
At some point overwhelming facts override a narrative that’s been around since I can remember but hasn’t come to be. Not even close.

It aggravates you to no end when A&M fans have faith in the future huh? I’m new to the board so I’m guessing it’ll be like this all off season but it is tiring to see you shitting on everyone’s parade

You’ll learn quickly that there are certain posters who aren’t worth a lick, and you’ll ignore ‘em.
r2d2 is kinda hot/cold in that regard; on the whole he means well.
But there are a boatload of LSU kids (and cranky old men) at whom you just have to chuckle and move along.
Glad you’re here.
We’re but a drop in the bucket, in terms of numbers.

The difference IMHO is with Fisher. Look at his latest classes. I don’t know when but they will start competing for championships

Fixed them for you.
Believe me, having lived in Texas my entire life, we've heard this song and dance many many times before.
Yet they haven't contended for any championship of any kind on a national stage for 80 years, and it looks like they only have 80 more before they can fill out the rest of the desperate, cringe-worthy national championship plaque they gave Fisher before he even coached a game.
Beta is as Beta does.

A&M is a top 20 program that has flirted with some great seasons over the years but has had a problem staying out of its own way, especially when it comes to coaching hires. Jimbo is their best football hire in decades and expectedly so for what he's making. A&M is still trending upward as a program, albeit slowly, despite no big wins in '19 in what was essentially a rebuilding season. SEC/media preseason bias aside, A&M needs to start cranking out double digit win seasons regularly and should provided they continue to recruit at a top 10 level and develop said talent. Jimbo has the support to hire and retain great assistants, something Slocum didn't have, and sooner or later, one of these QBs he's bringing in will be a game-changer.

To a man, we’ve said Coach Fisher’s first three years would be average at best, and that year 4 is when we’d likely see his system emerge.
