I was promised by many on this board the issues happening wouldn't ruin College Football as we know it.

If Alabama fans never attend another college football game and ignore the sport forever, who could blame them? What could have been the best team in school history instead disappeared in the dark of the night. Of greater concern is that this scenario will be playing out soon at a school near you.

The article says Arizona not Alabama. Kind of sad to lie about this.

i really don't care. it's about what's right and what's wrong. Allowing student athletes to make money with their name and such is right.

people have been saying football is doomed since the forward pass was introduced.

Is now and always was. Thats the bottom line.

Although I agree, pandora's box has been opened and lawsuits will prevent it from fixing any of it

Fine. Then when do we, the owners of these properties, get to see a dividend? Why is this a property that, going back at least 5 generations in some cases, our citizens paid for, but we can't:
1)sell the property, or a share in it
2)receive a dividend
If these players played for "Louisiana Semi-Pro Swampers" no one would care or pay these monies.
In the meantime, tuitions are higher , educations are worse, and athletics isn't contributing to the institution--it is just a side business.

Is having compassion on the poor-in-the-know (people such as you) by providing well-timed and applicatory info for their benefit...a Rant Crime?
There is a cult of ignorance in this country and you're President of it.

Fair enough. But is it right to allow students into said school who don't meet the schools academic requirements.
Is it right that the academic standards for even a place like Stanford are lowered to allow jocks into school?

No. It's just annoying watching grandpas flood this site with endless threads as if every thought that pops up in their head deserves its on topic.

They were already getting a free education. Also, lots of perks go with being on athletic scholarship at a Division 1 school.

Ill be a broken record on this...but blame the schools and presidents who enriched themselves by selling the pageantry and tradition to the highest bidder years ago

Its not the money thats the biggest problem its the transfer portal in my opinion. NCAA cant do anything about the money without going thru the courts but they can make the rules about transferring.

CFB needs contracts like the NFL. And realistically a salary cap as well
