BYU is learning why you don't go out as an independent.

If that was the 2000 Indy Bowl, I remember watching that on TV. Awesome sight to see. I went to the Outback Bowl the following day and it was freezing cold, at least by Tampa standards. It struggled to top 50 that day.

Any day spent at a bowl game tailgating with a new random fanbase is a good day in my book. Count your blessings baws.

Memphis, Shreveport, and New Orleans are better than any city in Mississippi and it’s not close.

Birmingham isn’t bad at all these days

Lol wut?

Birmingham had 5 murders yesterday. They are up to somewhere around 120 for the year - to go with another dozen or so killings that’s were ruled justified (self defense).

The city has a population of roughly 200,000. It is one of the deadliest cities in America with a murder rate that exceeds more infamous places like Chicago, Washington DC, and Detroit.

It has nice islands but is otherwise a sea of disaster.

I remember watching the Snow Bowl(at home) in Shreveport. It was one of the best games that year.

Birmingham is one of the better locations for SEC teams now that they got out of that shithole that the Bear made famous.

You still remember that nine year run ?

Memphis easily. Shitty and not safe downtown. Lots of panhandlers, beggars, and grifters seeking donations for all kinds of crap. Memphis needs to be bull dozed so they can start over. Stadium.., old but not bad. Most fans stay downtown and you have to go to stadium by car or bus.

It is to me.

I was. Not sure what your point is, exactly. Was it to correct my choice of words?

Believe it or not, 21 years in the grand scheme of things is a very short time. Not everything revolves around you and/or your age.

Memphis has the Peabody where both teams stay and good bbq plus Beale. Sure, I would rather be in Nashville, but Shreveport and Birmingham are a step below Memphis.

Only one team stays at the Peabody. The other one stays at the Hilton hotel out east.

When it was at Legion Field, it was Birmingham hands down. In a very bad area of town. Nothing like watching drug deals go down and hookers plying their trade while stuck in traffic to get to the stadium.

Hopefully the new stadium eliminates a lot of that.

1964 Sugar Bowl: Ice on the sidelines, too. One TD from Ole Miss, 4 FG's from Bama. Both offenses frozen. Pun intended.

There were 13 turnovers that game. 9 by Ole Miss and 4 by Bama.

I had the unfortunate opportunity to see the Aggies lose to Georgia in Shreveport years ago. I honestly think Shreveport had no idea the game was coming. It was more visitors in those 3 hours than any other time in it’s horrific history and they put their true best foot forward

If we’re going to a really shitty bowl, might as well be Birmingham. Not a far drive and it’ll be interesting to see the new stadium and hopefully there’s good weather. It’ll be like a spring game for us and so many people are going to opt out. We’ll see what Harsin’s got I guess.
