quote:At the end of the day, Auburn's players have worked their assess off since Spring training and then they had to go through a brutal season of hard work and roller coaster emotions throughout.
Wishing Auburn had a better season and a better bowl but the Birmingham Bowl should be lots of fun.
Their reward for all that hard work? A short drive up the road for the fricking Birmingham Bowl.

There is nowhere on earth colder than the Liberty Bowl in late December. There are Eskimos watching on TV thankful they're not in Memphis.

Was at the UGA/A&M game as well. Went with my Dad and they had this bus system to get to the game because there was supposedly no parking. Got to the buses over 2 and a half hours before the game and didn't make it to the game until almost halftime. Terrible stadium and the area around it was worse.
Still the old Cotton Bowl took the cake. The '92 game A&M played Notre Dame and it was freezing and windy as hell, you would think the game was in Michigan. Saw our 12-0 season go up in smoke like our breath that day. Old Cotton is also a disaster. The A&M/Tennessee Cotton was a 10AM game on NYD that I was hungover as hell for and parking took forever only to come in the game in the 2nd quarter with it already over. Perfect Fran game.
A&M really got screwed on the Gator this year. Just played there 3 years ago and playing Wake Forest again. How have we been in the SEC a decade and still not gotten one of the B1G bowls? Had it been Outback or Citrus we would have had a huge turnout but no one wants to go to a 10AM game in Jacksonvile on NYE to play an ACC team. Again.

If I had to play on that retina-damaging blue field of Boise State, Idaho in late December, just shoot me. The only thing a southern tourist has to do in the winter in that region is to visit the world-famous spud museum. Just shoot me.
