Overall or just SEC?

Overall it would have to be Albuquerque, Shreveport or Frisco

Shreveport has to be the worst.

I remember a few years ago it was snowing like crazy at that Bowl game. Could hardly see the game and the field was covered.

Birmingham is one of the better locations for SEC teams now that they got out of that shithole that the Bear made famous.

21 years is not "a few years ago".

There are players about to declare for the NFL draft who weren't alive then.

Whatever the bowl in Shreveport is is the worst.

We played ND twice in 1997. BR late in the season and again in the Indy Bowl in Shreveport. I commented to a buddy after the game in TS that it was the coldest I had ever been watching a sporting event.

Wrong answer. Two months later, the bowl game in Shreveport made it feel like Key West. It was literally too cold and windy to snow. I was sitting in a casino in Bossier two hours later still trying to warm up.

Good Times.

a few extra weeks of practice

That’s the most important part of the season, extra practices for next year.

Memphis has the Peabody where both teams stay and good bbq plus Beale. Sure, I would rather be in Nashville, but Shreveport and Birmingham are a step below Memphis.

So they get to stay in a hotel downtown and eat BBQ? Man, how nice.

Birmingham is currently building a park underneath the interstate by the stadium called CityWalk.

That winter there was a worldwide blizzard. It was snowing the next day at the Cotton Bowl as well.

Plenty of places serve beer. I don't care about seeing a goat drinking beer unless I can frick it.

Take Memphis off that list and add Detroit, if they still have a bowl game.

Memphis is easy to get to, affordable, good food, Beale Street, casinos, a couple of museums, and they want you there. Hell, the sheer 'WTF' aspect of the Bass Pro Pyramid alone is worth the trip. Worse places to visit in this country than Memphis.

The first Music City Bowl was a miserable experience. Played in the old Vanderbilt Stadium in an ice storm. Lost to Va. Tech and the group that played the National Anthem was booed off the field. They attempted to become Jimi Hendrix and failed miserably. It was so bad the Va Tech band played the anthem again to a standing ovation.

I'd say we lucked out finishing 13th/14th and still getting Tampa.

LSU beat Alabama the last three games they played there--1982, 1984 and 1986.
