How do you put the kick 6 behind 2019 LSU? Y’all were getting drummed 33-13 at halftime. Y’all knew it was over but Smith made it somewhat interesting at the end. The kick 6 was the craziest moment in CFB history.

2013 vs South Carolina Doink in OT

That game was nuts. I remember being out in the Vista and when we won I bought my entire table shots.

1987 Regional Final vs Indiana. Only game I have ever walked out of convinced the refs jobbed us.

2006 Auburn: Yeah, I think the refs jobbed us, but I wasn't at the game. ;-)

Honorable Mention: 1994 Auburn Interception Game. It sucked, but at least we knew the Hallman nightmare would soon be over. Still, all he had to do was run up the middle on 3rd & 4. . .

- 2019 @ LSU 23 - Auburn 20. This was a game that Auburn probably should've won,

No, it wasn’t. Y’all were thoroughly outplayed the entire game except you had freak DT’s that prevented us from scoring on you in the red zone.

We have so many but here are a few

1.The Sterner Fumble
2.The Reggie Fish drop in the 2006 SEC title game
3.The 1969 Shoutout vs Texas
3.The CWS dropped pop foul
4.2011 Sugar bowl Horton fails to scope and score
5.The Broderick Green fumble against Auburn 2010
6.2017 Tournament close loss to eventual Champions

2014 Alabama is up there for me. We had an easy TD but fumbled out of the endzone, then missed an extra point and lost 14-13. We did a phenomenal job on Amari Cooper that game but couldn't pull it out.

There are a lot of those type games under Bielema from 2014-2016 that were gut wrenching though.

Hands down it is 1973 Sugar Bowl. Alabama 23 Notre Dame 24. It began to look as though Alabama couldn't win the big game. We missed an extra point on first TD and never went for 2.

1982 Tulane LSU heading to the Ernge Bowl and forgot they had a game against the wave. i was 10 and heartbroken. this was back when LSU-Tulane was a thing.

2012 Bama (post 1/9). this was the revenge game and we blew it.

2005 Tennessee. game had been moved bc of Rita. everyone in the state needed a distraction. rick friggin clausen had his revenge. oh and JaMarcrud threw an awful pick that doomed us. this would set the stage for typical Miles let downs.

1997 Ol Miss. a week after stunning #1 UF, Faulk making the cover of SI, etc we get the dreaded Jefferson Pilot time slot. DiNardo clearly does not have the guys ready and we lose to Sen. Tuberfield and the Rebs.

I know it was before both schools were in the SEC but 1975 A&M loss to Arkansas.

A&M comes into the game 10-0 after finally beating tu for the first time in 7 years. Ranked number 2 in the nation. That should have been the last game of the season but it wasn't.

A&M goes to Arkansas on December 2nd and get their tails whipped 35 to whatever. A&M goes from playing in the Cotton Bowl for a chance at the national title to the Bluebonnet bowl

I started to make a list, but then I realized it wouldn't be short enough.

Was this really that heartbreaking

It obviously wasn't, since a) It took multiple miraculous/trick plays to finish within a single digit margin of defeat and b) they still bring it up as a moral victory.

It’s really not. Our defense played good enough to win, but our offensive genius HC fricked us. We never had a shot to win. That’s vastly different than 2012 and 2014

Clemson may very well have been the better team. But not 28 points better. The boys just flat didn't show up that night. Really a waste of such a tremendous season up until that point.

That hurt less than losing at the last minute on a pick play. So that makes my list.

Others, in no particular order:
CAMBACK - that hurt worse than Kick 6. We probably weren't winning the 2013 game. We were gassed and Auburn was playing better at the end. I hate that it's an all time highlight but at the end of the day, Auburn probably would have won in OT anyway. What happened with Cam Newton was different. We could have, should have stopped AU's national championship hopes. I wouldn't have said that before the game--but after what happened in the first half, right up until the Ingram fumble? That was a slow death.

Florida, 08. I think we win the title that year if not for Tebow. That's one where I felt like we controlled the game, but Tebow and that team had the experience. They snatched the game from Bama, much in the way we've snatched a couple from UGA after being out-played.

Not a game, but an overall disappointment: the two years following 2nd and 26. They were fun seasons that ended in heartbreak, with little more than "what might have been" had Tua stayed healthy. Some of that is luck, some of it is not getting rid of the ball. If he wasn't looking for a home run on every play, and played more like Mac (it's ok to throw underneath), he may have been able to be healthy wire to wire.

Honorable Mention: 89 at Auburn. My first year to follow Bama, when I'd decided that's where I was going (in 90).

1. 1972 Alabama 35-21 over LSU in Bham. (My senior year at LSU.)

2. 2012 Bama last second win over LSU in TS.

3. 1969 26-23 loss to Ole Miss in Jackson. (My freshman year at LSU.) I will always believe LSU would have won the NC if we'd beaten Ole Miss.

there was more anger and complete fricking shock than heartbreak I think last seasons team would’ve performed better in that game.

That was the weirdest game. Your defense played great - holding Alabama to field goals and one touchdown- but the offense played utterly confused all night. We kept waiting for miles to sub out the qb or make adjustments or something.
