And these are questions that I feel need to be asked.

No. They didn’t.

Nor the fans at the game or the fans at home.

Saw that video earlier and he’s absolutely right. I feel like eventually that is what’s going to cause the Big 10 in a decade or so to dissolve unless they come up with some sort of alternative to travel for those sports

Yeah flying commercial cross country to play a sport you love is tough sledding for sure.

Agree. I don't see how this is sustainable.

College football is not getting stronger.

This is all about grasping at monopoly money and crossing your fingers. What if ESPN collapses? What if these giant TV contracts wither and die? Once upon a time, Disney was a monolith too big to fail. Now rumors persist they'll either sell off 3/4's of the company or the whole shebang to Amazon or Apple... if they're buying.

The spirit of the thing is pretty much dead and what's left is the last strains of traditions and rivalries expansion will diminish or outright kill. What's left is just minor league pro ball.

I definitely get his point but it's a bit hypocritical of him when he's at a school that left it's own regional conference for a conference with greener pastures.

Eli was at Arkansas State as running backs coach when that happened. How can he be held accountable for any decisions that Missouri and the SEC made at the time?

Because he's the head coach at a school that did literally the exact same thing that Washington and Oregon did.

Shane coaches for a team that did the same to the ACC.

Then you completely missed his point if that's what you took away from it. Missouri joined a conference which includes schools within a reasonable distance from their campus. While not in the southeast, Missouri is still technically in the south. Rutgers and Maryland are in no way in the same stratosphere geographically as Oregon, Washington, UCLA, and USC.

Once again, no they did not. The state of Missouri touches the states of Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Each of those states contains at least one Southeastern conference school. You have to drive over 24 hours from Eugene, Oregon to reach the same geographic area where the original schools of the B1G have their campuses.

Is this a joke? You can sleep on a bus or a plane. Lord knows I did in college. We used a school owned 15 passenger van that was 10 years old to travel from milledgeville GA to Lincoln NE and Las Vegas a couple times a year along with those every other weekend trips to anywhere from Florida to Mississippi. 8-10 people plus gear with rotating drivers.

It’s what you do in non revenue sports. And it was team building so you were discouraged from taking quicker transportation unless the whole team could. So the only time I flew was with fencing to ranked tournaments with smaller groups.

And the “I tHoUgHt ThE pOrTaL wAs ClOsEd” tripe was idiotic. It’s not like they are moving conferences this year. And student athletes that really object to traveling and actually use that transfer portal and go elsewhere.

Is this why Missou is 1-16 all time vs Florida in Gainesville in baseball? The distance is too great to sleep well and it bothers their mental health?

fricking hypocrite.
