Missouri athletics contributes less to SEC prestige than any other program.....

Missouri has just completed it's ninth year as a member of the SEC and in all that time they have won one New Year's Six bowl game. That was after the 2013 season when they won the Cotton Bowl and finished ranked in the Top 5. They have no Sweet 16 finishes in basketball, no Omaha teams in baseball, and they add nothing to women's sports. Every other program has contributed more to SEC prestige. During the nine years that Missouri's been in the SEC the rest of the league has made the following contributions:
Alabama: Do I have to list it? National titles in football in 2012, 2015,2017, and 2020.
Auburn: An appearance in the 2013 football national title game. A Final Four (2019) appearance in men's basketball. A trip to Omaha (2019) in baseball.
South Carolina: Lost in the 2013 baseball finals to Arizona. A 2017 trip to the Final Four. Women won the basketball 2017 national title.
Arkansas: A 2019 finalist in baseball. A 2018 appearance in Omaha
LSU: 2019 national champions in football. 2018 Fiesta Bowl champs. 2013,2015, & 2017 trips to Omaha in baseball. WCWS trips in 2015,2016,&2017.
Texas A&M: Orange Bowl champions in 2020. Baseball team went to Omaha in 2018. Numerous national championships in Track & Field.
Florida: National baseball champions in 2017. Softball national champs TWICE.
Georgia: Three New Years Six bowl wins. Four Top Ten finishes in a row in football.
Vanderbilt: TWO national titles in baseball.
Kentucky: Two Final Four appearances in basketball. A New Year's Six bowl win in 2018. A WCWS appearance in 2014.
Mississippi St.: Lost in the women's basketball finals to Notre Dame in 2018. Lost in the baseball finals in Omaha to UCLA in 2013.
Ole Miss: Won a New Year's Six bowl game after the 2015 season. They just won the NCAA women's gold title.
Tennessee: WCWS finalist in 2013. WCWS participant in 2015. Sweet 16 in basketball in 2014 and 2019.
Point being, every SEC athletic program has been more successful than Missouri has been since they entered the conference in 2012. They had a chance to make a mark in softball but blew it today. They've been a disappointment to say the least.

When they came in they were touted as a very strong addition to basketball. That has not materialized

Sad, Mizzou is the only mule in their state. They really should do better.

They belong in the SEC west for balance, move Auburn to the East.

I think they currently hold the belt in wrestling.

2017 and you left out the following.
Baseball: 2016 SEC tournament champions
Basketball: Men's 2016 SEC regular season champion, Sweet 16 in 2016 and 2018, Women's 2013 SEC tournament champion and 2021 regular season champion

He didn’t list any SEC champions so why would add that for A&M? Goddamn y’all are so weird

First of all, national prestige is based on football. There are only 2 types of football seasons, years when Bama wins and years when Bama doesn't. That's how it is measured. You want prestige, beat Bama at the only sport that matters every year.

There's a reason why South Carolina's doesn't include every single WBB tournament title except one since the tourney started.
He didn't list ANYONE'S SEC only accomplishments. GD. Observation is hard.

That was not a New Year's Six bowl. The Cotton lost major status beginning with the 1995 season with the Bowl Alliance and didn't regain it until the 2014 season when the CFP/NY6 added them along with the Peach, thus making the Cotton a major bowl once more.

Thanks, that was a warm and fuzzy presentation.

Has Mizzou even won the SEC in any sport since joining??

Upvoted.
Our athletics department is a dumpster fire and should be ashamed of their lack of success. And by success I mean actually winning conference titles or making noise on a national scale. Unfortunately, Mizzou seems to think “success” means finishing .500 in conference every couple of years.
Even more pathetic when you consider they’re the only major school in the nation’s 19th most populous state.

quote:2021 Elite Eight. C’mon OP. Also like 612 track championships but I’ll let that slide.
Arkansas: A 2019 finalist in baseball. A 2018 appearance in Omaha

16 national titles in 7 different sports by UF since 2012. Our best 9 year run ever I believe.
