My brother suffered cardiac arrest with lost of oxygen to the brain earlier this year. The paramedics got to him in about 8 min and immediately intubated him. When he got to the hospital he was having seizures (which we later found out was from brain damage). About 5 hours after the cardiac arrest they induced hypothermia. Unfortunately when they warms him up the next day he continued cardiac arrest and had no brain function and passed away the next day.
This situation sounds eerily similar to my brother. Prayers for the family and prayers that he recovers. Doctors can work some miracles.

Doesn’t sound good, at all. He was without oxygen for several minutes. Sounds like they were waiting for the whole family to arrive.
This is dire and my prayers go to him and his family. But it’s too early to give up all hope. While the odds are long, they’re not impossible.

But the information is there. It’s accurate.
Even the smallest detail of how they transported him.

JJ are you an MSU dude?
I am close friends with a family that are boosters. I attend MSU vs Bama with them when played in Starkville. And bring them to T-Town when played there.

Been a fan of the man since his OC days. He pulled off one of the all time greatest pranks in an OU v. Texas game by planting a fake play set list in pregame warmups to frick with Texas’ defensive calls and OU was able to go up 17-0 in the first quarter. The man genuinely had fun in his job as a coach. Hate the thought of College Football without Mike Leach.

If he was down 10-15 mins in ventricular fibrillation or V.Tach then thats 15 minutes that the brain had without oxygen. Even with therapeutic hypothermia, he will likely have long term, severe brain damage if he somehow survives.
On a positive note if he survives, Leach with half his brain capacity is still probably smarter than most of us

I posted that at 9pm CT last night about the cardiac arrest, brain damage from hypoxia and seizures and was down voted.
Go figure.
Go figure.

It’s sad he won’t even get to coach in the bowl game where the stadium has a pirate ship that fires cannons

The story is repeated hundreds of times each day around the country. Sudden cardiac events, as described here, can come with little to no warning. A simple calcium test will also not totally divulge whether one is susceptible or not. Proper review of personal and family history along with a very good physical examination should accompany labs and a routine chest x-ray. And even then they still occur.
The takeaway here, is that "life" is fragile and fleeting. My prayers are for his survival, but in some cases there are things which as bad as death. My prayer is that his family does not indur a long and arduous battle that comes with a prolonged intubation and CCU interement. That takes a toll on the family and loved ones. Coach Leach is a character we all loved. MSU was lucky to have him as their coach. He represents the university well.
Thinking of all my Bulldog friends and family today.

You just proved my point. What the guy reported was wrong. In that detail and others. He's trying to get clicks!

There is not much to go and figure on our part. It's you that needs to go figure out why you were down voted. Take an arseessment of it.

So what are you hearing?
Doenst matter what he's hearing. He's going to die if what is being reported is true (15 mins before treatment with defibrillator; Seizures (indicating brain damage); etc).
Best case scenario he comes out of this practically a vegetable. And I hate it. I love the Pirate.
