Damn, this sucks. He was a gem, and he’ll be missed in the sport. Condolences to his family, I know first hand how traumatic it can be to witness a loved one suffer a major heart attack and it’s something I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Godspeed, Pirate.

Man, I’m just legitimately sad over this. Anytime someone dies unexpectedly it’s obviously sad, but this is just hitting me a little harder than usual.

Here’s a guy who somehow managed to make being an SEC head football coach the least interesting thing about him.

You realize how good you have to be at coaching football and how eccentric you have to be as a person to have that said about you?

We all knew he was a rare person and a treasure while he was here and, still, it doesn’t lessen just how upsetting it is that he’s gone so suddenly.

I’m really sorry for all who knew and worked with him; if this is how I feel, I don’t want to imagine what y’all are going through.

Rest easy, Pirate. You were a hell of a coach and a good man, it seems.

This makes me incredibly sad. Had the opportunity to meet him when he coached at Kentucky and he was a genuinely nice guy. Sending love and light to his family, friends, and the State community.

I don't know if there was a more universally beloved coach out there. RIP

RIP Coach Leach. He was easily one of the funniest and loveable coaches in CFB. My heart goes out to the Leach family and Mississippi State fan base.
