Love Maria Taylor as well, but I still can't help but imagine what would have happened if it would have been Jamelle Hill interviewing him.

P.S. I kind of hate that I like Saban now. Gotta respect the old bastard
I know, I feel the same way.

I honestly think this whole thing was blown waaayyyy out of proportion. The interview continued after that question/exchange, and it was fine. Also, the fact that Saban called and apologized to her fairly soon afterward, before the media had a chance to blow it up, shows that he knew he was wrong - it wasn't the publicity that forced him to do it.

The media is entitled to exactly two things from coaches. Jack and shite.

Can we stop talking about it? It really seems like the two people who were involved don't care that much.

But it's Nick Saban. We have to whine and criticise him over the least little thing becaue he is too good. It is not fair.

If he don't want to have to answer questions or talk to the media then maybe he should retire.

That aint happening dude. He's starting to eye the all time wins record and knows he can accomplish that at Bama. Even if he stayed only 5 more years he probably wins 3 more national titles which would distance him from Bryant. Saban's ego..... He has an office on Bryant drive, across from the Bryant Museum, next to the Bryant conference center, down the road he plays games in BRYANT Denny stadium and his players stay in Bryant Hall during summer camp. He wants to supplant that. He won't say it but he wants that ALL TIME wins record. It would take him into his 80's but Saban is a 66 year old in a 45 year olds body. He won't be satisfied until he has won more games than any coach in history.

Nice try.

One day, sooner than later, Saban is going to retire. The ensuing meltdown is going to be worse than Chernobyl.

I don't know about that, but 10 national titles would put him ahead of even Eddie Robinson (yes. I know Grambling isn't major college) and it's a nice round number.

I rarely have good things to say about our current media but Maria has handled this very professionally. She may one of the few legit ones left in that industry.
