Aggies has quickly become the joke in the SEC.
Dude, you will never take the place of Bama as our most hated team, Quit trying !
AJ should have won the award, JFF threw up some ducks and they were lucky to be caught. plus the int's.
Come back when you can beat Texas .

Gaudy numbers but his 2 interceptions were the difference in the game.

You can get lucky, but you cant live on luck.
JFF had some lucky throws in that game that could have went for INTs. How many good throws did he have that weren't fades to Evans in one on one coverage?
It was a good performance by JFF, but not unforgettable. AJ played better, IMHO.

Even more astonishing than the Davey O'Brien thing, there's this:
Nevery thought I'd see this...
Back when Rick was 34 years old and had just led Colorado to a Cotton Bowl in his first year as head coach, I never in a million years expected to hear him sing a song to the tune of Marty Robbins' El Paso, in honor of a Heisman winning sophomore Aggie QB.
Life is stranger than fiction.

Reminds me of what has been written about the Shootout with Archie Manning. Scott Hunter had better stats and won the game but Manning got all the awards.

It's very debatable that AJ had better stats.

He didn't turn the ball over, much better.

AJ played mistake-free, no doubt about that. Played better? That's debatable. His only TD pass that a jr high QB couldn't have pulled off was the first one to Norwood. The other three (the rainbow flea flicker, the WR screen and the 5 yard swing pass at the end) were so much more on the inept A&M defense. The passes were completely pedestrian.
The way I look at it, the Alabama defense >>> A&M defense, therefore for Manziel to have put up the numbers he did leaves little doubt he was the better QB on Saturday. Unfortunately football is a team sport, and the A&M defense was dominated in all phases of the game.

Manziel still threw two passes where he didn't need to.

A) Absolutely no doubt Manziel deserved it this week.
B) Absolutely no doubt Aggies are the Queens of moral victories
C) Absolutely no doubt 24 is greater than 19
D) Aggies can keep their heads up - 3rd in the West is still on the table - and we know how much of a watershed event that was for you last year.

well they are no Rice that is for sure.
5-3 home record over the past 2 years and you are trying to talk trash. Now that is comedy.
12th man = slight above .500. How frightfully intimidating

JFF ain't lucky on those passes that look like a desparate hail mary, it's planned.
He throws a big high arc to an approximate area. Mike Evans speeds up or slows down so that the pass comes down as a jump ball.
Since MEvans has about a foot extended height advantage over most DB's, Evans comes down with it. JFF watches for 1:1 with Evans.
Defense linemen have to play soft rush respecting the scrambling quickness of JFF. This gives Evans time to get down field.

I wonder if AJ would rather have another ring or a Davey O'Brien QBOTW award?

Should have been AJ no picks and won the game.
Manziel actually had to play a defense. I've never seen a squad fall for the play action like ours did.
Not taking anything away from AJ. He played well and had a few great throws (his TD to Norwood was a thing of beauty). But most of his passes could have been made by you or me. Our pass coverage was unspeakably bad.

ETA: Here you go
quote:
Manning attempted 52 passes, completing 33 for 436 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also did some damage on the ground, rushing for 104 yards on 15 carries and a touchdown. His runs went for 30, 17, 16, 17 and 21 yards.
Schenkel said in his interview with Watkins that there was "lightning in every stride" each time Manning ran with the ball. He would end up with 540 yards of total offense. In all, Ole Miss finished with 609 yards of offense-albeit in a losing effort.
As for Hunter, he went 22-of-29 for 300 yards and the lone touchdown to Ranager.
LINKFor you young folks, Schenkel is Chris; one of the best ever.

I would have thought the winning QB would have won. Not the one who gave a winnable (with bama's help) away.
