Bayou Desiard also has a tournament that weekend

Trails End in Arcadia is a fun course and usually in pretty decent shape. Lots of hills. Bout 40 minutes from Monroe.
What is the best training aid that you have used?

I have recently purchased the Birdie Balls to hit in my backyard and they have been amazing. Much better than hitting in a net and gives real feedback. Also have a velvet impact mat on the way. Hoping this will improve ball striking.

Go to Porzak Golf on Youtube. Watch the video about the trail arm staying in front of the seam of your shirt in the backswing. It has helped me tremendously.

re: Anybody playing Takomo irons?
Posted by ChuckUFarley on 3/28/25 at 1:01 pm
I play with a guy that got fitted for Takomo's and hes loved them. Hes a little older so he has the graphite shafts and I cant hit those but they seem to be great clubs. Especially for the price tag

I just started playing PFG Xtreme Tour's and they have been great for my game. I'm finally getting plenty of spin and check on wedge shots. Havent noticed any distance drop off either. Great price and will continue to play them

The gas would cost more than the green fee at $38 on weekends if that tells you anything.

No website. Its not a great track but its getting a little better. New pro started out there last year and has made some progress getting funding, but needs much more. Its long and not difficult if you stay in the fairways. Bunkers are basically dirt, not much OB, and not really any water to worry about.

Look into Takomo Irons. Great clubs and a new set of irons will cost a little over $600. Do your research on them

Same here. I got one last summer and it has been the best cart bag that I have ever owned. So much room for anything you need to bring. Clubs arent clanging around for 18 holes! Its by far the most convenient bag I've ever had

Fun course. Usually in pretty good shape. Its not wide open, you need to be pretty accurate off of the tee and the greens are elevated on most holes, so if you miss the green, especially long, it will be much more difficult.
