Except we won our division, so we do belong there.

Haha...what? LSU beat Bama and Ole Miss (and every team in the West that they have played). Oklahomo wishes they could even be a placeholder in their conference championship game, but they are completely irrelevant. LSU took their manhood in 2019 scoring 49 in the 1st half of the playoff game.

Saban, Miles, and O hadn’t LSU. LSU does that for coaches.

Also the near same Alabama team beat Georgia handily the previous SEC Championship game, splitting it 1-1 for 21-22’…so there’s that

but how does this measure up to LSU-Tennessee spread in 2001?

We lost by 8 in Knoxville earlier in the season. Highly doubt the SECCG was anywhere near a 15 point spread.

have no problem saying BK is a good coach. I’ll even say he’s a great coach. But will he bring a national championship to LSU? Based on what we’ve seen so far, there’s not much reason to think he will

Saban, Les and Coach O have what in common?
Hint… it involves no National Title until?

LSU has beaten everyone in the west. Why shouldn’t LSU represent the West in the SECCG?

Your critique is that he has not won a title in the past, so he likely won’t win in the future

My critique is he hasn’t even come close in 19 years

quote:

The only coach in the country who has won a title after winning a title at a prior school is Nick Saban.

Here are all the national championship coaches since 2000 and how many years at a P5 school they coached before their championship

Kirby- 5
Saban- 7
Orgeron- 2
Dabo- 7
Meyer- 3
Jimbo- 3
Chizik- 3
Miles- 6
Brown- 15
Carroll- 3
Tressel- 1
Coker- 0
Stoops- 1

As you can see here, the only one close to Kelly’s 13 years is Mack Brown. And even then, Mack Brown had five NY6 Bowl wins before his championship. Not to mention Brown’s first P5 job was UNC, which is a far tougher place to win than ND.

A coach winning a national championship after 19 years of zero significant wins would be truly unprecedented, which is why I doubt BK.

Let me ask you this, what’s worse?

• Having zero significant wins over 3 years at Ole Miss?
• Having zero significant wins over 4 years at Okie St
• Having zero significant wins over 4 years at Michigan St

Or having zero significant wins over 12 years at Notre Dame?

The truth of the matter is that there is nothing BK has done in the past to make you believe he can win a championship. At this point, LSU’s best argument is “I think he will figure it out”.

Which is fine. That’s where 97% of coaches are right now

i’m not a teenager tho

If Vegas had to put odds on BK winning a championship before retiring it would be something like 7/1 and y’all know it

The criteria for a "significant" or "big" win seems to change based on Kelly's accomplishment.

Just this season, he's beaten two top 10 teams in year one of a major rebuild.

In both situations, this board as well as many CFB pundits from around the country predicted LSU losses by multiple touchdowns.

Those were, objectively, big wins.

Of course, now, both teams are now criticized for being overrated.

I expect LSU to lose to Georgia and the talking point will revert back to Kelly's struggles in "big games" despite the fact that it's taken a top tier coaching performance for this team to even be in Atlanta.

You're spending a lot of effort on talking about something that you say never has and never will happen.

Why?

Not much rhyme or reason to this list. One of the most common things is coaching at LSU, just like Kelly.
