Auburn isn’t close to LSU’s level. We won with orgeron and miles.

Mehh.....BK has beat Saban once....same as Kirby.

Kirby is a good coach but he's not elite. Elite coaches can build programs and maintain them. Kirby is at UGA where the state is rich in talent. He's doing as well as he SHOULD. BK is doing the same.

In Kirby's first full 6 seasons, he has exactly 1 SEC title and 1 National Title. Let's wait and see what BK accomplishments look like after 6 full seasons.

BK is definitely an elite coach, hell every other coach considered to be elite often says it.

There's no debate about the talent in LA, 3 previously coaches have all won titles. So common sense dictates so will BK.

Before last year, UGA last title was in 1980...in a talent-rich state...let that sink in. I think Kirby will continue on to be elite but he won't run the SEC like Saban/Bama has. Too many great coaches at talent-rich schools. Auburn could make it even more difficult depending on who they hire. Also, just a matter of time before UF gets another good coach. Plus Texas and Oklahoma will get better coaches once in the SEC.

Your post completely undermines your point.

You are just too pointless to see it.

You say this

quote:

Elite coaches can build programs and maintain them.

And then you describe Kirby but say it’s not Kirby.

Not so smart of ya

Then you should know better.
You should know how this works.

Still doesn't change the fact that LSU made the right hire, and we're likely to be the favorite in the west more years than not over the next decade.

Decade is a long time.
Who was the last LSU coach who lasted for 10 years?

But I agree 100% with the premise.

Soooo. Kirby took a team with no championships since 1980 and won one this past January.

And the LSU coach is taking a team who has won a national championship with their previous 3 coaches to the Western division lead.

And that makes Kirby not elite and the lsu coach elite.

Man, Kirby hasn't built UGA. He's recruited well. UGA has ALWAYS had talent. Most of Richts career, he was the winning establishment coach in the SEC in terms of wins...just no title. The five years prior to Kirby taking over, UGA recruiting classes were ranked in the top 10, except 1 year where it was 12th. Again, he has recruited better but its not like UGA was at a point they were losing due to lack of talent.

If a coach can't win a championship at UGA or LSU, they're most likely bad coaches. Both states are rich in talent and can deliver you a top 10 class barely pulling a few out of state players.

Bama has to get players from LA, GA, FL, and so forth. Texas school must share with all in-state schools, as well as Florida and California schools.

Kirby has 5 SECCG appearances and 1 win. Most would think the year he won a title, he won the SEC. He was actually blown out that year by Bama.

I like Kirby and think he's a good coach. However, I'll judge him how I judge ALL coaches. I want to see how many games he can win against teams that are more talented than him or at least have equal talent.

Saban typically has the most talented team when he takes the field, so he should dominate like he does. Now Kirby is there. Last year, Bama had equal talent in the SECCG and it wasn't close. Title game Bama was without their 2 WR's and UGA blew them out only when they were not of equal talent.

LSU has a total of 5 5*'s on a team that is headed to the SECCG. Thats amazing in the SEC. They are starting 4 true freshmen at criticall positions. Thats great coaching. Go look at Saban 1st year at Bama or Smarts 1st year at UGA. Then compare team talent.

Hell, go look at Tenn team ranking and it definitely backs up how amazing a job Heupel is doing at Tenn.
