Now if y’all win does that make LSU the de facto national champions?

I couldn't have said it better. It's a chance for LSU to beat a Top 10 team and finish in the Top 10 themselves. Man up and play.

So many people want UCF to shut up and LSU could do that.

Everyone thinks this is a done deal I guess, but the announcement isn't for another hour.

I'm excited about the game, but I grew up in Orlando when UCF's football program sucked and the university had less than half the enrollment it has now. I'd love for LSU to beat them.

Yep. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still think winning 10 games and the Fiesta Bowl would be a season worth celebrating. Especially considering a lot of the prognosticators had LSU going like 7-5 preseason.

...except that all your best players will sit out the game following the lead of your stars the last few years. Shoot... in the last three years, some of your best even quit L8U before the lasts few games of the season with some sort of injury that was never defined or confirmed. One even "sat out" for his entire Jr. year. "One heartbeat".... what a joke.

Imagine Alabama if Hurts et Al. had decided their pro careers were more important than the team. It is hard to imagine isn't it? What is sad is that L8U might get run off the field in that game, what with backups playing throughout the secondary and LB, etc. Imagine the UCF idiots if they beat L8U after Aubarn last year...OMG...what a nightmare! L8U you have only one job... do it!

We’re playing a borderline D1 school without their starting QB.

A borderline D1 school? They won their conference title game yesterday without him. They also won the Fiesta Bowl a few years ago.

Stop the preemptive excuses. UCF has been talking smack for 2 years. Man up. Ed O is supposed to be a players coach. They should play for him.

It's not every day you can end a 24 game winning streak.

Yeah, this was the complaint a decade or so ago when you faced Boise (or to an extent TCU, before they joined the Big 12). People whined because the opponent wasn't "sexy", and then when they lost it was because they weren't up.

I like the match up. If we're not playing for a title, I want the win first and foremost, and I think we are more likely to beat UCF than Michigan this year. I think we can handle their defense, and our defense should contain their offense enough.
