LOL, so a student can't walk across campus for academics, but tens of thousands of people are encouraged to descend upon that same campus for football?

Yeah, UF, you aren't looking too bright right now.

Actually, you're the one not looking very bright. Were the canceled classes scheduled for Saturday? The classes were the more imminent issue; there's still time to wait and see about the game. It really doesn't take more than a few functioning brain cells to grasp that.

concern I can understand
Everyone understands a school not wanting to take their student-athletes and coaching staff into a state that is under evacuation. Into an area that may be without electricity and services/facilities that could be strained in the wake of a powerful Cat3-4 hurricane impacting the state. The LSU Administration should refuse to place their athletes and staff in a potentially dangerous situation.

I mean - you all are more concerned than people in Gainesville, and the storm is coming to us.

Gainesville is concerned enough to cancel classes and close down campus all the way upto Friday. Why the hell they think it's just fine and dandy to host a football game on Saturday is what's so idiotic.

I see Florida is going with the "Play them in a category four hurricane approach". Let's see how it works out

Yeah because hurricanes and the effects they have is like the great land of OZ where the next day it's a yellow brick road and singing munchkins.

Understanding isn't the problem. This shite show of a forum isn't going to miss a chance to troll.

So do you see how fricking improbable a game this weekend in Gainesville seems?

I didn't say it is or isn't improbable. I'm not a meteorologist, bruh. I just said the city is 80 miles inland and isn't going to get slammed like a coastal city would.

And when Katrina hit even FURTHER WEST THAN NOLA AS A CAT 3, LSU couldnt play a football game an entire week later.

Didn't that have a lot to do with levees breaking, with the flooding of Lake Pontchartrain, and with the intense amount of rainfall that hit BR? Also, you guys were a direct hit if I remember correctly. This storm, supposedly, is moving along the east coast and traveling north east. Katrina slammed you guys directly, right?

Like you said neither team is winning shite so what do you care if it's cancelled? Way to talk out of both sides of your mouth.

Do you honestly not see a cause for caution and concern on the part of LSU in this situation?

Screw a football game, they are and should be more concerned about the fact they are being expected to take nearly 100 student-athletes and coaching/support staff into an area that is under a Category 3-4 hurricane warning. A state that is under evacuation right now and the storm hasn't even made it's way to Florida.

To hell with the SEC office if they don't see this as a potentially dangerous situation to put a bunch of student-athletes in; when there are other alternatives that would result in both LSU & UF player's personal safety.

Katrina missed BR by over 100 miles to the east.... And we couldn't host a game for three weeks

Tropical storm winds alone can knock out power causing a cancellation

We just don't want a cancelled game

Why risk or chance this??

Make plans to play elsewhere please. Don't care where.

You just fly or travel into these kind of conditions. Florida is being highly inconsiderate.

No way should LSU allow the team to travel to this game. It's not safe

You werent coming to the game anyway. Hike up the skirt and we are sorry sweethearts that we wont be in red stick cause you want it to be there.

Your right, its not safe to be in Gainesville...angry Gators are hungry.

We are going to beat the hell out of UF for the fourth year in a row no matter where the game is played.

Of course I do. I just don't think that's the basis of the LSU concern. I think that's the vocalization point, but I think they see an opportunity for the game to be cancelled or played in BR - both preferable to Gainesville -
