So air travel for LSU's crew should be just fine trying to get into G'ville on Friday, right?

Take a bus?

We don't want to lose another cancelled game.. that's why...

It's foolish to ask a team to fly into that based off certain models.. you don't know what's going to happen and the resources available.

Move it so we make sure we play

Why are LSU fans melting so hard on this one? The worst hurricane that has hit Gainesville since the 80's came through in 2004, and the only issue was downed trees and some neighborhoods without power. Gainevsille doesn't flood. The wind will be gone by Saturday morning, and by wind I mean the MAYBE tropical storm force gusts we get.

If UF fans still can't understand why the direct weather impacts to Gainesville are of little concern at this point then perhaps UF's accreditation should be questioned.

I mean the flight thing in is a legit issue and LSU should complain to the SEC.

But I mean, I live here, in Florida, in Gainesville, and based on a long history of living here through many storms - stuff isn't as bad this far inland. It just isn't.

Unless something changes and we get a direct hit, which hasn't happened in forever, but all the models have the bulk of the storm off the coast.

We will see though.

LSU fans are like little school kids in January upset that school isn't cancelled because there is 2 inches of snow on the ground and they can't stay home.

I like it-- more flexibility this way-- if they have to they can just cancel the game- no harm, no foul to anyone. They could try and reschedule on 11/19-- just buy out the pay to play games.

Where are all the LSU fans that were calling Fulmer an arse when he threatened to forefeit for the same reasons you all are bitching about?

concern I can understand - but you guys are melting so hard about it. That is what I don't understand.

I mean - you all are more concerned than people in Gainesville, and the storm is coming to us.

They cancelled classes for that tropical storm that came through earlier this year too. There was like no wind, and some rain. It was sunny and wonderful out most of that day that stuff was cancelled.

Dude, God willing the entire state will be spared. But there is a serious threat that at minimum a Category 3 makes landfall - some are forecasting a Cat 4.

There will be wind in G'ville which will retard air travel in roadways in the area but UF expects LSU to come on over and lets play a football game Saturday morning?

Good going by the Florida administration. Home field is definitely more important than people's lives.

a Cat 4 hurricane slams into the city?

Gainesville is 80 miles inland. It is as far from the coast as Baton Rogue is from New Orleans. Storm surge and coastal flooding shouldn't hit the city too hard. Winds may be the issue leading to potential power outage.

LSU-Florida being played IN GAINESVILLE

I can only assume that they are certain they'll be able to put the game on, or they would have moved it. If so, that's great. It would have sucked if the game could not be played in the Swamp where it belongs.

I hope everyone is able to get to the game and back home safely and that everyone in Florida is able to stay safe with minimal damage from the hurricane.

Ideally, I hope the game time gets moved to the night slot. We always seem to do better in the Swamp at night than in the daytime.

You keep saying this stupid shite.

When was the last time Baton Rouge saw flooding like it did this year? Just because it hasn't happened recently, doesn't mean it won't happen.

You made this account in 2011.

Phillip Fulmer last coached for UT in 2008.

Keep talking out your arse though

And when Katrina hit even FURTHER WEST THAN NOLA AS A CAT 3, LSU couldnt play a football game an entire week later.

So do you see how fricking improbable a game this weekend in Gainesville seems?

I mean, I would be concerned about localized flooding if UF was about to get a direct hit, but I'm telling you I've lived here for 30 years and I've seen bad rain and damaging winds, and I doubt UF gets a catastrophic amount of either from this storm unless it changes it's path.

In which case the game will be moved or cancelled.

I've been in BR during many hurricanes and it's not enjoyable. The day after a hurricane should be for recovery not a fricking football game.
