I am generally in favor of waiting and seeing how he does, I think HCs need a grace period to an extent (though in this NIL age and LSU’s resources I understand the POV of pissed LSU fans who wanted more immediate results), though I also feel like what he’s shown thus far is exactly what most of us pictured, and a bit of a preview of his coaching identity/tendencies.

But I also know what you mean about his overall demeanor. Something feels a bit off with him, and I can’t tell if it’s just the pressure at LSU, being butthurt by his reputation sinking after he got respect at OM (dude is chronically online), or maybe he’s got personal life stuff causing him extra stress or something. Because in terms of physical appearance he looks absolutely miserable and awful. He seemed so much healthier and different this time last year, for comparison.

The above bolded is the big deal. NIL is both a solution and problem. Really hard for highly paid coaches with highly paid rosters to justify needing a few seasons or needing time to gel or can't get good depth when the amount of money that is being spent. The demand for results has never been higher.

The Kiffin we hired from Ole Miss would have went for it on that 4th and 1 to end the game.

I think he will be more aggressive on those short downs now that he sees who our defense really is.

So yes, I will admit, Lane Kiffin was not Lane Kiffin on that last drive.

Ikr we are 4-2 and fixing to play his 7th game at lsu....my gawdddd the horror.

Before you say last year 5-1....if we had that schedule last year. We would easily be 6-0 right now.

He is definitely not being the aggressive Coach he usually is. I expect that to change but that is correct, he has been far more conservative than he usually is.

He looks like he’s on cocaine. Drawn, almost ill looking. Excited one moment and down the next. Given he’s been hanging all the celebrities lately, it really wouldn’t surprise me.

I think he still gets advice from Saban and Pete Carroll. They both know how aggressive Kiffin is, but maybe Saban advised him to trust the defense and that it's alright to be somewhat conservative when you have a really good defense you can trust.
As alluded to in another post on this thread, maybe to an extent that trust is broken, but not fully. I expect Kiffin to go back to being aggressive while still expecting the defense to be just as aggressive defensively as the offense is.

What was Lanes record his 1st season at OM and what was his last.Logical LSU fans didn’t expect playoffs this season, there were to many changes for everything to come together so fast. But I know it’s easy to pounce on him this year as a failure by asshurt fans.

There it is, pure coonassery in its raw, unadulterated state of being.

Saban is the reason LSU lost to Kenucky. Once Keppin finally throws off the shackles of Saban's overpowering influence, both he and LSU can shine bright and be free to finally just be who they are.

This has a high probability of being true. He is a drug addict and has discussed that openly. Drug addicts, due to their weak nature and inability to behave like adults and make rational decisions, they continually slip and slide and come in and out of "recovery".

It's what they do. Same way with drunken sods too. He has also admitted to being a sloppy, nasty alcoholic that didn't have the ability to just have a drink or two every now and then and go about his business like an adult with a fully formed brain.

The problem with Kiffan could be any number of things.

I think I am doing okay as a poster. Thanks for caring though.

An outside perspective from a trusted friend can always help and oftentimes will shed a needed light on an issue you didn't realize you had.

Stop living in the past, Wolfhound. It will soon be all you have if you voluntarily choose to isolate yourself in that fashion.

'Dem three national championships you saw in your own lifetime, with your own little beady eyes, are no longer relevant. Be proud of them and the team you support for achieving that, but don't reference them in every single current day conversation you have as some sort of leverage. It's weird.

There’s always been just rumors that he had some drug problems. He’s only confessed to abusing alcohol for years, but stories always involved him with drugs in some capacity as well. I hope he really has been able to maintain sobriety, though. That’s a hard thing to do, and I commend it when someone gets that far.

But on the subject of wild stories, does anyone remember the rumor about him and female Tennessee students in a car accident?

Just googled to see if that was me misremembering or if it happened. They said it was never substantiated but the stories that circulate with this guy were always so salacious, there has to be something to them… I do know the Bama ones were very much true. Or, well, I guess that wasn’t LK, that was all Joey Freshwater.

Sound advice. LSU is currently 4-2 and playing at home this weekend against a solid SEC foe. Alabama is 5-1 and playing at their most hated rival. That is the current state of affairs.

You outright said he had admitted to having drug problems. So I take this paragraph as an admission that you are full of shite.

I don't know Kiffin. I don't know if he has had a coke problem. I admire that guys like Scott Cochran get their lives cleaned up.

But, if you want to say something like "he admitted" something, you better get it right.
