Something feels off about Kiffin this year. His energy, coaching decisions, and general demeanor dont match what he is known for and its leaking into yalls success. I actually think he has the ability to do good things for yall but either he has to get back to who he is or LSU admin needs to let him.

He’s definitely coaching way more conservative than normal. I think we’re gonna see his aggressiveness come back a lot more now that Baker has shown he’s not trustworthy with the game on the line.

he realizes the pressure at LSU is way more than at Ole miss to win . It takes a toll on coaches . He only had that feeling one time at Tennessee. Probably why he wasn’t hesitant to leave . Some coaches can handle it some can’t . He looks rattled for sure .

I’m hoping Baker has done enough to make Lane appreciate that.

Holy shite, I completely agree with that. I don’t know if that’s what it is for sure, but I also don’t know that it isn’t.

I agree but I think he trusted Baker

That trust has been broken imo

Add on all the off the field things he started before the season now catching to him and LSU whole Ad dept. A lot stuff is slowly catching up to Lane.

Not gonna overreact. He needs a couple of years.

I like Sam…but no one should have seriously thought he was a NC QB.

Defense should be better than it is.

Injuries have hurt.

Some of that is true, I also know a nothing to lose now Lane, is a dangerous Lane.

So we are beating either Bama or Texas or both at home this year.

I am generally in favor of waiting and seeing how he does, I think HCs need a grace period to an extent (though in this NIL age and LSU’s resources I understand the POV of pissed LSU fans who wanted more immediate results), though I also feel like what he’s shown thus far is exactly what most of us pictured, and a bit of a preview of his coaching identity/tendencies.

But I also know what you mean about his overall demeanor. Something feels a bit off with him, and I can’t tell if it’s just the pressure at LSU, being butthurt by his reputation sinking after he got respect at OM (dude is chronically online), or maybe he’s got personal life stuff causing him extra stress or something. Because in terms of physical appearance he looks absolutely miserable and awful. He seemed so much healthier and different this time last year, for comparison.

Maybe if he’d focus on football instead of what rapper he’s walking down the hill with or what commercial deal he’s getting to stroke his ego he might have more road wins than lawsuits.

Definitely looks tight and stressed. He was loose and fun with us.

Honestly…Kiffin in Red Stick is not a good fit. (Same with BK x1,000…but BK knew his calculated grift)

Ditto with Deboer in Gumpland. Dude looks miserable all the time.

Why did he take the LSU HC job in the first place when thing were great at Ole Miss? I think his daughter dating a LSU player got to him to go to LSU.

He use to be coach of USCw.

Also he was an NFL coach. I went to multiple Raiders games at that time, he sucked.

Pressure is too much. Coaching not to lose instead of taking risk. He doesn’t have then mental makeup for a high pressure job.

Still can't believe Kiffin punted. He had insurance with the 3 point lead.

Grass is always greener. I personally think he had it made at Ole Miss. Not because I’m a fan but because he was getting results, they were going to match his pay and the leash is way longer. Plus everyone at least bought that he had changed

Id be surprised if that was it. LSU offered a lot of money and resources and he thought he could make it work that's all. Something isn't working right tho. Not to say it won't in the future but he doesn't seem comfortable. Could be administered pushing back but mh theory is he threw together a roster based on money spent without too much thought as ti who hes getting and now that it didn't work in year one hes getting conservative.
