Personally don’t think either player plays or is needed to play for LSU to be successful

OM would have taken both back if they wanted to go there

Well when the SEC puts on rules in that situation then we can have that conversation.

Yeah you definitely get sanctions and vacated wins for playing with an ineligible player

That’s a long winded way to say one was All-Conference and the other will be backing up Trey’Dez Green.

Should that injunction be granted in favor of the players versus the NCAA, Clayton believes all of the plaintiffs in the suit should be granted the opportunity to play without penalty.

And legally he is due to the TRO. Keep up.

The NCAA has never declared him eligible they just are restrained from punishing it while the case is ongoing. They also cannot retroactively punish his participation while this is ongoing.

Conveniently the docket won’t clear out till around February.

From the NCAA. This has nothing to do with the rules the SEC made public yesterday.

Even his lawyer is saying no one can stop them from competing. Ok the SEC never said they couldn’t compete or would punish the player. What they said was they would punish the school for playing them. That suit has nothing to do with what the SEC said yesterday.

Where did I say NCAA at all? We are talking the SEC punishing LSU. Not NCAA punishing the players or LSU.

It just depends on if the judge views the NCAA to be colluding with its member conferences to keep these kids from playing.

2 options from here. Then the SEC appeals and there is a different judge. Potentially federal.

you have no idea how any of this works.

I'm just going to throw it back at you....b/c OM is not out of the NCAA headlights yet and you know it.

Was it worth the squeeze to literally suit up a player this fall that is ineligible according NCAA rules? So we should fear the SEC more than the NCAA, is that what you are trying to teach us here? Cause, I don't. They are getting their asses sued left and right now.

Was it worth the squeeze to shove the middle finger in the NCAA's face when it came to the Clemson debacle?

Stop being an FN hypocrite. You have your own issue to worry about.

I never said that, I said if they lose that case the SEC rule passed this week is moot, the players wont be NCAA eligible, so an SEC rule means nothing

If the SEC is sued and loses, they cannot punish the players or school, that is the point of the injunction. The OP said players sue SEC (which it appears it has) and they win, the players can play with no penalty

we are going in circles here

Ok so they get a TRO against the SEC tomorrow. Cool. Then months from now SEC wins because they will. They have every right to make a bylaw and was voted on unanimously. The punishment will come later.

Yes it can and may be argued that the language of the injunction applies to conferences, arguing some antitrust violations

The SEC however will be sued outside court case likely, if this if they have not been already

Just like they will win against Chambliss next year. Also just like Chambliss, any TRO that’s granted will prohibit the SEC from retroactively punishing the player or the school.

It’s hilarious because these players are using the exact same method as Chambliss, but somehow Ole Miss fans are convinced this one will turn out differently from Chambliss.

They will have the exact same outcome one was or another.

A TRO protects those involved from any penalty while under the TRO. Again, we're back to Ole Miss not receiving any penalties due to Trinidad playing under a TRO.

Otherwise, the NCAA could just vacate the wins of kids playing under a TRO, after the fact. It could also have postseason implications in those situations.

Y'all had Lane for 6 years, do you really think he's doing this for no reason or if he thinks the SEC has them over a barrel?

Your worst coach ever won a natty with us, and our new coach is the only thing that lended you hillbilly dry county having fricks any credibility to begin with.

Ole Miss pursued Wright after he was cut from an NFL team. If he showed interest in playing for yall instead of us youd be singing a different tune.

We really had no idea that collective fans and admin would go psycho when an eligible player said “judge says my class still has a year of eligibility” and came back to school.

Very much wish LSU had let another school be the first to take on this inevitability.
