Yeah, no.

But don't let me interrupt your narrative.

Do those who have us ranked as one of the top 25 teams in the nation just not know what you know?

So you're gauging our team's quality on the fact that we aren't picked to beat a team that no other team in the country would be picked to beat?

I thought LSU fans were supposed to be football savvy.

Chavis D will pay well but give up scores at the end of each half that will cost them.

Aranda aint shite, dude hasn't even seen a defense worth a frick and you retards are already crowning him the greatest. Do you ever not set yourselves up for complete failure?

Here's the one enduring fact I remember about Chavis:

One bright October morning in 2007, a twenty-something year old kid of an offensive coordinator took far less talent and a way more depleted offense than Tennessee had last Saturday...with zero time to prepare after having lost two starting offensive linemen and a running back just that morning...and beat the ever loving shite out of John Chavis.

DJ Hall just caught another pass.

It is called: 3rd and Chavis. You guys will not get off the field. Also, prevent defense, not applying full pressure and soft zone coverage does not work.

Good Luck with 3rd and Chavis!

Never said they didn't. I was asking a question.

But to your question, I think the jury is out. TAMU has had a trend over the last three years of looking strong early before falling off late. I'm not entirely convinced that your defense (the supposed strength of the team) is quite as good as billed.

This impression arises out of the fact that they gave up ~500 yards to UCLA and Arky, along with ~690 yards to Tennessee. They were the beneficiaries of several turnovers (without which I think the complexion of the team rank you mention looks very different). The ability tonforce turbovers is a good thing. But it's very hard to make your bones as a defense based primarily on turnovers.

That said, I think TAMU has potential. Their run game is strong. Their DLine is stout. But they're going to need help from the passing game and a decreased reliance on turnovers if they hope to compete vs bama.

Now, to my original question, what about TAMU objectively makes you feel like they're a really good team?

Not much you can say to them......they love their 98th ranked defense. They are plenty content with it if they keep winning I suppose. Alabama is the most efficient offense they have faced all year. I don't think the aggie defense will be the story. Stranger things have happened though.

this thread is about Chavis and his terrible two minute defense at the end of a half and the end of a game. you're welcome to start a terrible thread about Aranda.

Chavis is excellent vs Bama. With a competent offense aTm should be very competitive.

2012. Ironically, that was Chavis' most infamous choke job in his career.

Yes, and it has a lot of competition, too.

2014 Alabama and Notre Dame
2013 Georgia and Ole Miss
2012 Clemson (and of course Alabama)

All of those losses, the majority of our losses in those three seasons, we led or were tied with two minutes or less left in the game and only needed a stop to win it or go to OT. Couldn't get it.

It seems to be carrying over somewhat this year, too.

Led UCLA 24-9 entering 4th quarter, UCLA scored two TDs and a 2-point conversion in the last five minutes to send the game to OT.

Led Tennessee 35-21 with three minutes left in the game, Vols scored two TDs in the last 2:07 to send the game to OT.

This week, even if A&M pulls a miracle and makes it a nailbiter, they will give up a score at the end if Alabama needs one.

Won the UCLA game in OT on a defensive stop.

Won the UT game in OT on an interception.

Buried comeback attempts by both Auburn and Arkansas.
