“I keep losing at deals, and I don’t want to make a deal anymore!”
Anyone that knows where that obscure quote comes from is ok in my book.

I disagree. By suing the state Kelly would not see any money for a long time…if ever.
Do you realize how much the state of LA currently owes various people/entities?
Good luck with that.

You have no real news because it is still early. Still in the info gathering mode on a lot of coaches. LSU hasn’t even narrowed down their list yet.
Boosters yapping is not the same as where things currently are at LSU.

re: I’m shocked Kelly’s attorney thinks his client didn’t do anything wrong and LSU owes him.

While losing the PR game, I am fine with how LSU is handling the buyout.
Kelly obviously wants a lump sum and does not want to receive $800k over the next 6+ years.
Clearly, Kelly would like more than $30 million in some form of a lump sum settlement. Maybe that number is $35 mill…maybe it’s $40 mill.
To the "LSU is contractually obligated and Kelly shouldn’t give an inch crowd"…Ok…then he will receive it as $800k per month for 6+ years and like it.
Both sides are just using leverage to get the best terms possible. I suspect they will eventually settle it outside of court for a lump sum figure significantly less than $50 million.

Bingo. Most on here don’t understand that.

Agreed. I think Jay would like a lefty starter in the weekend rotation and Williams is that guy,

Kelly just used LSU as a retirement vehicle. I doubt he ever coaches again.

Leverage play…Kelly doesn’t want to go to court anymore than LSU.
Dumba$$ fans complaining about this only helps Kelly’s attorney in the PR game.
Chill out ladies and let LSU negotiate a settlement.

Damn…I didn’t see you!
I agree both sides are applying leverage and neither wants to go to court. Fans acting like teenage girls is helping Kelly’s side here.
Kelly used LSU for money. Plain and simple. As Chris Landry put it, “Brian Kelly never checked out, because he never really checked in.”
He said Kelly initially turned LSU down and only came for the big money contract that was later offered by LSU. Too good of a guaranteed $ deal to
pass on.
Why would Kelly not want to go to court? Discovery would air some dirt and the $800k per month would stop while tied up in court for who knows how long.

Someone asked about how the home side bullpen was working out and Jay said he liked the set up of not being able to see who was down there in the pen. Also said he wanted fans to stay on the opposing bullpen.
He brought up the WV pitcher having a panic attack for the 2nd time at a meeting.

21-7 assists to turnovers is great!

I believe he said Patrick ran 6.28 in the 60. I can’t recall an LSU player running that fast.
I think you covered things pretty well Wild. I think Jay left out Noot as far as guys being stretched out. I think Rizy will be more of a back end bullpen guy.
Garcia, Plog, Lachenmayer all relievers. Not surprising there.
Paz getting stretched out in spring was a little surprising to me, as I figured they might ease him into this season as a reliever post injury. I guess he’s just too good not to see if he can be a starter or 3-4 inning piggy back guy.

That would be a great development to see. Can’t be a great hitter without the ability to do that.
