Dent would be awesome. Manifest it.
I agree the realistic hope is for Schmidt to contribute out of the pen.
Moscona claiming L.Schmidt is going to get just south of $1.7 over his 3 years at LSU. Maybe that baw claiming he had sauce was on target. It was just over 3 years instead of 1.
They said it wasn't Private Equity but would likely be made public at some point in August before football season starts.

Hood has starter traits. I am hopeful like you that LSU can fill out a weekend lineup card without Hood as a starting pitcher, but I suspect it is only a matter of time before he is either starting on Friday or Saturday.

I don't believe your sources. Sorry.
Not responding to anybody in particular, but I think L. Schmidt is being overhyped on this board by some. I know Jay/Yeskie want him, but he’s got a ways to go imo. He’s not some sure thing ready to make a major contribution next year IMO.

Nice to have if his heart/mind are into it? Yes

Make or break LSU next year? Nope
I could possibly see that over 3 years. No way they would pay him $1 million. I doubt anyone on LSU's roster is getting $1 million per year.

I would guess Bino is getting something north of $500k for 1 year.
Hanny just made a good point that avoiding LSU for fear of injury doesn't avoid the injury possibility at Juco.

You can get hurt at Juco with no $ in the bank just as easily as getting hurt at LSU with some $.

It could be argued with LSU's training staff and technology/diagnostics, Schmidt might be less likely to get injured at LSU than Juco.

I disagree. Load mgt is such a big deal that they now monitor just about every stat possible on each individual player.

I think the decision of how to handle fall camp is one of the more challenging ones for coaches.
The fact that he didn't immediately pivot to LSU after negotiations broke down is pretty telling to me.

LSU isn't the program for you if your heart and mind isn't 100% in it. Just my 2 cents.

Not sure but I know he changed agents right before the draft.

It ain’t over till he signs.
I suspected Hirschkorn was gonna get more $ than Schmidt. No doubt at this point.
