LSU Didn't Roster The NFL Dropouts: Why Is This Lawsuit Continuing & Meeting To Expel?

Someone walk me thru this, is it over allegations that LSU induced the NFL players to come back? I have been racking my small brain and cannot come up with a reason for today's escalation other than maybe that.
Seemed like it was a done issue when Lane didn't roster or play them, now we have a meeting Thursday about expelling LSU!
Inb4 dumb shite like Sankey is butthurt, I am serious, no one seems to have an answer why.

Because Sankey got embarrassed in court last week. He’s truly butt hurt.

I didn't want to start a new thread in the several hundred from last week, so this seems like maybe an appropriate place.
I didn't keep up with the whole thing last week but for maybe a few minutes. So I'm sure this has been already answered a hundred times. But if the ruling ultimately went in LSU's favor and they were told by the courts they were allowed to have those guys, why didn't they roster them or play them?

I mean....if the shoe fits....It's literally in the amended complaint.

It doesn’t make any sense to me and seems extremely petty

I truly believe this is the correct answer. It sounds too dumb to be true, but I've yet to see any evidence to the contrary.

Sankey got absolutely embarrassed on the stand. He is trying to save face.
Needs to be fired.

It’s because LSU colluded with 300+ athletes to sue the SEC.
Oh wait, they didn’t sue the SEC, the sued the NCAA. The SEC wasn’t added until Sankey and his cronies tried to big dick the situation and make a new rule.
Still, that’s LSU’s fault too. The SEC wouldn’t have gotten themselves wrapped up in that lawsuit if it weren’t for Kiffin.
Also, Kiffin made a joke at halftime. That’s obviously grounds for a lack of institutional control and expulsion from the league.

It's largely over the SEC wanting legal authority to make and enforce their own rules since the NCAA is powerless to do anything.
LSU wanting to add Wright and Harris gave the SEC a reason to try to get this authority confirmed by a federal court. It's a bigger issue than just LSU and these two players - it's about the SEC's ability to have self-governance outside of the NCAA should they decide to break away.

LSU was not a party to the state court suit. The ruling went in favor of the players, but LSU (wisely IMO) chose not to roster them with the federal suit hanging out there. This escalation seems to be completely unwarranted.

It's a power grab.
Sankey is trying to use this opportunity to move more power from the hands of member institutions to the league office.

It didn't go in LSU's favor because LSU wasn't part of that lawsuit, the players were.
And LSU didn't roster those two in question because it was the right thing to do based on the SEC's rules. Kiffin said so himself that he didn't intend on breaking any SEC or NCAA rule.
Now the SEC is being an even bigger sandy Stankey vagina.

You are correct. Louisiana court ruled in the players favor. Giving LSU ultimately the okay to play the players. SEC then decided to file a federal lawsuit against LSU. We didn’t roster them because of this but also left two spots open just in case this got resolved before seasons end.

Because he knows your program is slimy and he wants to get ahead of the next unethical move y’all try to pull.

Because LSU (Kiffin) had a hand in orchestrating these kids to sue the NCAA and the SEC (violating SEC rules) and costing the conference money in legal fees.
That being said, I doubt they get kicked out.

The lawsuit isn't about the players playing or not playing, it's about the alleged coercion for the lawsuit. The SEC is alleging the LSU administration conspired with the players to file a suit against the NCAA/SEC.

But they have that already.
What they don't have, and aren't going to get, is Disney's permission to break the TV contract, which would be required to go through with this.

You don't challenge the boss, and take shots at him on national tv, even if they were jokes.
Kiff going to have to kiss the ring.

If there was actual evidence of this, it would be in the federal complaint. It's not.

Really difficult argument to prove considering the original lawsuit didn’t include the SEC at all
