The players have said what? If you think there was concrete evidence or even if the SEC thought there may be evidence of this, they would have alleged it in the complaint.

Sankey embarrassed himself on the stand and is lashing out to try and save face.

I don’t think you realize that if you boil this down to just the Louisiana lawsuit (forget the 270+ players suing for eligibility in many other states) - there were athletes pursuing
eligibility at other SEC schools on the Louisiana suit. But Sankey didn’t stick around long enough to listen to the athletes’ cases to know that.

Sigh.......idk how many times it needs to be repeated, but for the people in the back: LSU WAS NOT A PARTY TO THE STATE COURT SUIT. LSU did not bring SEC/Sankey into the suit, the players did. LSU still has not sued anybody.
Not on paper but everyone with a brain knows LSU and Landry were involved with the attorneys and judge. That’s the issue. Plausible deniability is gone.

Seemed like it was a done issue when Lane didn't roster or play them
It wasn't a done issue yet because at roster submission deadline, LSU only submitted a roster with 103 players instead of the 105 max. Schools are allowed to add players to the roster later as long as they have the roster spots available and the players in question were already students enrolled in classes. Both players in question are enrolled in classes currently, so leaving the 2 empty roster spots keeps the door open to add them later, depending on the outcome of the SEC federal lawsuit.

Inb4 dumb shite like Sankey is butthurt
This whole meeting to expel is a completely unnecessary escalation. Sankey needs to go. Its bad enough he took over when the SEC was at peak dominance and somehow managed to let the B1G negotiate a far more lucrative TV rights deal than the SEC got. Now he's presiding over the potential implosion of the conference.

Quite the opposite. They were actually given legal cover to add these guys on roster and chose not to. LSU went out of their way here to not add these players, even though they could have.

Show me where LSU was the named plaintiff in that suit. They weren't. LSU didn't go to court last week.

Why? Was Ole Miss involved in the Chambliss suit?

Legally, you can wipe your arse with that argument. In the court of law, everything after "Not on paper" is completely meaningless. I hope there are folks more intelligent and rational than you in the league office, or they'll be penniless by the holidays.

Vanderbilt, Ole miss, and Texas all had players sue for eligibility. I'm sure those players acted completely on their own with no help from anyone affiliated with the school that would benefit from them playing.

Oh but getting an Oxford judge that's an Ole Miss alum to grant Chambliss' TRO for an extra year of eligibility was completely legit and had zero biases or outside influence in the ruling

It’s not in a court of law. It’s in a room full of university presidents.

The judge who decided to grant Chambliss his SIXTH year is an Ole Miss alum. Please tell me you think he has the ability to be impartial so I can laugh at you.
Everyone pushes the limits of the rules. Ole Miss is playing a player that was ruled ineligible.
LSU, Landry, and Lane just do it loudly. And they piss people off. That’s why this is happening. LSU has had a rough relationship with Sankey for some time now. This is nothing new.

Court of law doesn’t exactly work like the SEC rant dude.

If you don't think that would ultimately lead to civil court, I don't know what to say for you. I know Lane touched you in a bad place, but I didn't realize he broke you quite like this. That's crazy.

Here’s the thing: in my time in law school, never once were emotion and logic treated as the same thing. The law is rarely as simple as picking a winner and a loser based on the bits and pieces we see publicly—who filed what, who is suing whom, and what each side claims.
But I will say this: LSU didn’t “win,” and neither did the NCAA or the SEC. In disputes like this, nobody ever truly wins. This will likely get drawn out, arguments will be made, and compromises will eventually happen.
However it ultimately ends, follow the money. That will usually tell you more than the headlines will.
The media will tell you what you want to hear.

That would have massive ramifications.

Every school who has had a player sue and seek an injunction to gain eligibly that was denied by the NCAA did so through the "conspiring" of their coaches and administration. And there have been A LOT of lawsuits. The SEC wasn't even a party to the lawsuit until they implemented a rule in response to the TRO that was granted against the NCAA. LSU didn't even need to conspire with anyone for that having been the logical response of the litigants. It was the most predictable thing ever.
I think there are several hundred pending lawsuits regarding eligibility right now across the country. LSU had a "connection" to 2 of the 20+ litgants in one of those cases.
