And about a decade before the Aggies reneged on their contract to continue playing LSU in the mid 90’s. It ended up being a good decision on their part.

Should be a great environment. I don't care where Gameday is going. This is the Game of the Day in College Football.

Ahhh, a legit OP. Nice facts.

One of the biggest games for both our schools for many years.

Hopefully it is a show to remember and even the loser is regarded as a top 3 team in the SEC.

But of course I am hoping for Weigman and our DL to show up big time. If they can pressure Nuss the entire game, A&M can win soundly.

Now that’s some hilarious revisionist history. It was LSU who backed out of that contract and tried to get somebody like Tulsa to fill their spot as a schedule replacement. A&M had won the last 5 straight and 6 of the last 7, they didn’t back out of anything.

Are you kidding me? Your father must have put this totally false information in your head.

Fact is, A&M was destroying LSU every season under that contract and LSU's AD backed out of the deal. Don't bring more false BS into this world. We owned LSU in the 1990s. It is simply a fact.

"The final match-up, a 33-17 A&M home win. A&M dominated LSU in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995 and then they pulled out of a 10 year contract.

The story of why the series ended can really be summed up in one word: money.

“I inherited a 10-year contract with LSU and Texas A&M, which is unusual. You don’t see that a lot,” explained Joe Dean Sr., LSU athletic director from 1987-2001, in a recent interview.

“What happened, and I was responsible for it to be honest, was we went from seven league games to eight league games,” Dean continued. “And it put a strain on us when we had to go there (to College Station). We needed that extra home game for financial reasons.”

Dean went on to explain that LSU, which cut the contract off with two years remaining, had to pay $100,000 to do so. He also lamented the death of the A&M rivalry, but added that his was a common predicament in the early-nineties with conferences changing and taking shape."

Give A&M a break. We’ve played them after their October plunge on the rollercoaster. This year we get them at the top of it and by next weekend they’ll be in mid season form

To be fair basically everyone owned LSU in the 90s. It was our dark ages.

This will turn into at least 5 pages now of Aggies whining about the LSU series and how they couldn’t even beat UL

Can I just say, I hate A&M… BUT….

Ever since Texas joined the conference with their “We are Texas” arrogance, despite not being relevant in 20 years… I have a new appreciation for A&M being in the SEC. At least you guys fit culturally.

Freshman year for me. I remember that game!...some of it at least

Will be weird watching this game in Oct instead of last game of the regular season. My BIL is one of the normal Aggies. May have to make a short road trip so we can shite talk each other while watching.
