Two years ago LSU won it and didn't even bother taking it. Just left it on the field where it was displayed.

I honestly think if they don't change the design then they should change the procedure and the losing team should be forced to keep it and display it.

I'm sure if you dig deep enough, you'll discover whoever created the trophy's design had a step-cousin who knew a dude who once punched a black guy for hitting on his wife.

Release that to the press and gender benders on Twitter and voila - trophy is canceled and replaced with the "George Floyd Memorial Trophy" that's shaped like fetynal or even a pregnant woman's belly.

I don’t even understand what the creator of this thing was trying to accomplish or say? What’s with the little steps that the “magnolia” sits on? Also, it looks like there’s an engraved plate at the front, but you would have to be standing over the damn thing to read it!
Hell, while I’m at it, the National Championship trophy looks stupid too! It looks cheap, like if somebody dropped it the seams would break and you’d be left with a wanky thin metal thing that would cut somebody’s hand trying to grab it!
Damn it to hell, America is going down the shi%ter and it’s because of cheap arse trophies!!!!

Ole Miss tried real hard but they don't have an engineering school. MSU offered to make them one but they said no worries, they would put their best minds on it. This is the outcome.

They do... It's just not the focus like an Ag/Machinery school

Also some should accidentally flick a lit cigarette at it and take of this problem

It was designed by Will Hopkins, owner of The Green Door Company. He wanted to change the trophy because in his words, the old trophy "looked like shite."

I agree and that is the 2nd version. Why can't we just do a real cup trophy if we are going to have one?

It looks like a bad high school woodworking shop project

It really does. Except it looks like something you throw together the night before the due date, just so you have something to turn in.

It's not nearly as stupid as $5 Bits of Broken Chair.

I think we left it on the field in Oxford in 2019, do we even know where it is?

Looks like something a high school student would make in shop class. About as durable as one too seeing as it's been a trophy for barely a decade and has already broken before

I don't think anything is as dumb or as forced as the magnolia bowl.

Battle for the Boot is worse given the conference just made this a thing overnight when Arkansas joined the SEC. At least Ole Miss and LSU are actually historical rivals.
