Should be a criminal investigation by the police, and should’ve been reported to the police if true.

Nothing would have come of it.
That’s the reality of how our system works and the unfortunate inequalities that come with it.
No system is perfect. I don’t want to change ours, but it sucks in situations like this.

Absent of signs of physical abuse, it’s extremely difficult to meet the high burden of proof given the isolated nature of the crime.

Sounds like LSU should clean house and fire everyone. Les Miles, Joe Alleva, F King Alexander...oh wait

Don't know if she is lying or not...but I question her click bait headline followed by she an alleged message she can't prove...

Surprised LSU have been at it defending this all day.
It's better to realize this is about to get bad than get surprised later.

That remains to be seen...

Projection...you don't know this...

I like to wait for all the evidence and investigations to complete before rendering judgement in situations like this...

I’m not saying there is a cover up nor are the reporters. They likely wouldn’t have had evidence to do anything without the victims’ cooperation.

That doesn’t absolve them from their legal responsibility to perform the investigation and file a formal report.

That’s not the problem here. The victim does not have to originate the report, and someone filed a formal report on her behalf and it was refused.

So you’re saying LSU should have ruined a kids life based on allegations from an accuser who wouldn’t even come forward?

If the women don't want to file a report and cooperate, what else is there to investigate? The women are really the only people to interview. What would be put in the report?

I'm in no way trying to make light of the situation. IF anyone at LSU tried to cover up any part of this, they should be fired immediately. I don't care who it is. I'm honestly asking what more they were supposed to do.

How can an investigation be performed when the only witness doesn't want to be involved?

They contacted the freaking girl and asked her if she wanted to file a report and she said no

LSU did nothing wrong in this incident. They followed protocol

One of them did come forward.

You are conflating the stories. We are discussing the first accuser who was contacted and refused to file.

So why don’t you stick with talking about that incident

Like I said, the women’s tennis coach maybe toast for this one. I hope you pursue it hard until she is fired

Damn Plate, WTH is LSU supposed to do when a student won’t go to the cops, won’t file a complaint with LSU, won’t go to the ER for a rape rape test when she wakes up the next morning and finds out she’s got “trauma down there?”

I’m curious to know if there were any other players using the girl(s) or any other tennis players. Did anyone else file police reports or where these two the only alleged victims?

They don’t have to file the report or cooperate.
In both cases, it was reported on their behalf. That’s enough to trigger an investigation.

Keep in mind, this isn’t some CSI-level investigation. Probably just some interviews and documentation. They just need to show that it is “more likely than not” false/true.

I’m seeing conflicting things from posters on here, but I believe it is being reported that there is no formal report for at least one - if not both - cases.

Sounds like the Athletic Dept engaged in a cover-up.
