Our state governor is controlling the state university quite masterfully. What are you implying?

You really should cast a wider net. After all, the "NFL player" excuse is just a way to say these players are ineligible (despite what the courts say). So any school that's ever used a player made eligible by court intervention should receive the same treatment. Otherwise , the SEC looks like it's choosing which teams get bullied based on some private arbitrary standard. That's never a good look, even for a "voluntary association"

NCAA Rule:
Under Bylaw 14.4.8 Involvement with Professional Teams:
14.4.8.1 Tryouts. 14.4.8.1.1 Tryout After Enrollment. A student-athlete may try out with a professional athletics team (or participate in a combine including that team) in a sport or permit a professional athletics team to conduct medical examinations at any time. A student-athlete may receive actual and necessary expenses related to the tryout from a professional sports organization or the national governing body. (Revised: 1/8/07 effective 8/1/07, 4/28/09, 1/21/17, 4/16/24) 14.4.8.1.2

SEC Policy Statement:
an SEC institution may not place on its roster an athlete who:
1. previously declared for the NFL, NBA, or WNBA draft and did not appropriately withdraw;
2. signed a contract with an NFL (or other professional football league), NBA/G-League, or WNBA (or affiliate) team; or
3. was listed on an NFL (or other professional football league), NBA/G-League, or WNBA (or affiliate) roster.

Webb has done none of the 3 above (note the "declared for the draft" relates to declaration before college eligibility expires)

The only thing that could get Webb is if the SEC defies the TRO which lets him avail himself of the 5 x 5 rule and the court has already denied the NCAA's effort to dissolve that TRO,

Does not matter the NCAA argued today in open court in the Kentucky case that mini camps create ineligibility. The SEC is bound by their by laws to follow NCAA eligibility rules
