Riley says UGA wouldn’t have a top 5 defense if they were in the Big 12. While this may be a statistical fact because of how much Big 12 offenses throw the ball around, I don’t think that means that UGA would’ve been any less highly touted last year.

Sure they would, because nobody in the Big-12 plays defense.
Sour grapes, man...If OU had any semblance of a run defense, UGA loses that Rose Bowl, and Alabama decimates OU in the title game.

I mean he's right from a statistical perspective, but that doesn't change the fact that UGA's defense would still be very good.

I don't know where they would rank, statistically, but I would bet the 2017 UGA team has more defensive players drafted than the entire Big 12

Well maybe if he didn't have Baker on the sidelines claiming its over and fueling our defense, he'd have been right.
I'd take SEC defense over BIG12 offense every time.

Probably not, but he is ignoring that Georgia only allowed the highly touted Oklahoma offense one TD in the second half. He probably needs to ask himself if that was due to his play calling. He is just taking a page out of "Big Game" Bob's playbook. Get beat by a SEC team and then talk about them like they are not good. I wonder if they realize how bad it looks for them since they were beaten?
Besides, if their offense was in the SEC it wouldn't be as highly ranked, either. Maybe he should think about that.

UGA would probably have the #1 defense because they would just run the ball against those soft defenses and their TOP would be around 48:00 every week.
