For Alabama, it was the worst season in 17 years.
How many of those 17 seasons were with Saban as coach? I'm guessing there's a correlation between "worst season in 17 years" and the absence of the prior head coach.

Not to mention a lot of it was due to fielding errors, not necessarily last minute heroics.

Was it entertaining or not?

Sorry that I love the game of baseball and really don’t care what other people watch. I don’t find the game of hockey, soccer (outside of the World Cup), Lacrosse, NASCAR, Golf, or Horse Racing entertaining either so I just don’t watch.

Millions of others do and that’s cool.

But if you’re asking me in the next 5 years if I’d prefer to see LSU win 5 straight women’s basketball titles or just 1 in either football or baseball the answer is the latter. But that’s just my opinion that many diehard LSU fans would disagree with. It’s all good.

And while we are at it. The world prefers baseball over American football. Guess we shouldn't care about football as much then right? We should start paying attention to soccer i guess.

Easily the latter. Not many LSU fans I know (in fact zero LSU fans I know personally) that would disagree.

[quote]I was told by LSU fans it's as big as football and much bigger than basketball.[/quote

youre for sure lying. nobody ever said baseball is bigger than football at any school, maybe a small school like cal staye fulerton or something.
at lsu we care about baseball just as much as basketball ,maybe more.
that parts true.

why lie on here? whats the point of just making shite up?]

It’s almost fifth behind women’s basketball-softball and barely beating out women’s volleyball lol

I don’t think championship ratings necessarily tell the whole story. A lot of people willl tune in to a championship for the drama. But do they care about that random midseason game?

Swimming is popular as shite for about a week during the Olympics. And then people would rather sit and watch grass grow than a swim meet for the next four years after it’s over.

The average college baseball attendance for the 2024 season varied significantly by conference. The SEC led with an average of 5,913 fans per game through mid-April, while the Big 12 averaged 2,753, the ACC 2,128, and the Pac-12 1,717. The Sun Belt conference averaged 1,707 fans per game, and the Big Ten averaged 1,189.

Did you really cite 10 year old stats to make this point?

College baseball is a little too sophisticated for the 21+ mouth-breathers that upvoted this post, apparently.

These threads are so cringe.

Such a weird thing to take time out of your day to post about.

Look, I hate baseball as much as the next guy, don't understand how anyone could enjoy it, but I just generally avoid the forum when it's wall to wall baseball talk, it's easy to do.

On television I will tune in and out of a game and watch the end if its close. Probably what I'll do with these CWS finals games. Have it on and go do other things.

When OU is playing during the season I usually watch when they are batting and don't watch when they are pitching... because you can't score when you are on defense. Only the other team can score.

And I will watch the whole game if there are actual stakes.

Baseball games that last forever reminds me of going to a church service that lasts too long.
