Austin sucks on many levels. Libs, homeless, UT.
But those of you dissing the bbq have no idea. Central Texas is the center of the bbq universe.
Other than that you can go back to shitting on Austin.

Austin have any weird laws barring concealed weapons carry? Like you can’t possess a firearm in a public hot tub? No firearms allowed in whore houses? You must declare your firearm to any bums and junkies (sorry….unhomed persons) when they engage you for cash or property? TIA.

If someone can't pull off having a fun, safe time and eat like a king in Austin, that's the person's fault, not Austin's. It's a great place to visit.

FYI, I wouldn't badmouth the group you're about to be part of.

Going by prison rules, if we don't stick up for ourselves, no one will respect us. If you dish it out, we'll be forced to dish it back. That's just the name of the game. I think all of us would rather get to being best buds.

It's a weird liberal crime ridden town. May be the worst in Texas.. next to Houston. LOL

There are few things that we really fight about. Our College teams and Bar-B-Que are two of them. I have had great Bar-B-Que in all the southern states. The best I have found are the little out of the way places that look like they were built in the early 1900's and smell like heaven

Then go to Lexington, TX and go to Snows. It's only open on Saturday and get there early.

This is true. Best Que joint around here looks like an abandoned cabin. If it weren’t for the smell you wouldn’t go near the place.

Well, we've already covered that Austin is one of the cleanest, safest, most middle-class cities in the US. So this is totally wrong.

There's also nothing wrong with a city being liberal. Every big city in America is liberal. It's just the nature of cities. Atlanta is liberal, Miami is liberal, Releigh is liberal, Nashville is liberal. It's just a city thing. Try not to be a duck out of water while hanging out in cities. Just be easygoing and open-minded and I promise you'll have a great time.

1. Austin is a good, not great college football destination. No doubt worth making the trip.

Come visit in the fall on a non-game weekend

3. It's the best BBQ city in the world.

Brisket only I still can't believe I was one who introduce my neighbors to proper pulled pork

4. It's expensive.

This cannot be stressed enough

5. Texas fans are good hosts.

Absolutely! Texas folks made me feel like I grew up here.

7. The airport blows.

Absolutely!

8. It's not a college town, and doesn't have that cool college town feel.

Absolutely!

10. There are hot women all over the place.

ABSOLUTELY!

I moved here in 2007 and love everything but the expense, Libs, and Texas fans (Just joking most of my friends are UT fans and good guys). I am looking for less expensive and cooler place in Texas to live since retiring with less commies but I still love this place.

You’re not going to get any arguments from me about the liberals and what they have done to the city. You couldn’t pay me to raise my kids there.

But we aren’t talking about living there. We are talking about visiting for a game. It’s got more than anyone needs to have a great time.

1. Austin is a good, not great college football destination. No doubt worth making the trip.--Sure it has good points and bad. Crazy as it sounds my dad told me the Charles Whitman story as a kid and have always to visit where this tragedy happened.

2. Traditional tailgaiting is good, not great.-Not much of a tailgater. Too damn hot but I'll take your word

3. It's the best BBQ city in the world.-probably incorrect here.

4. It's expensive.--
quote:

pretty much the USA right now.

5. Texas fans are good hosts.--Know nothing about them other than Pasadena and they seemed ok. Like everybody, couple of yahoos in the bunch.

6. The liberal losers who have moved there in flocks dont go to football games.--good

7. The airport blows.--Again, no experience with it but I've heard stories however, I believe all airports suck.

8. It's not a college town, and doesn't have that cool college town feel.--Any town over like 50K loses that college feel

9. DKR is a good, not great stadium/atmosphere.--Still a stadium with lots of history

10. There are hot women all over the place.--I'm sure. I see hot women wherever I go.

UT tower still has lots of bullet holes from people grabbing their guns and shooting back at him. It penned him down and allowed guys to get up to him and put him down. Creepy walking the six pack and thinking about how good of a shot he must have been. Effing marines I tell ya.

Last time I was down on 6th Street. I saw this obese hideous woman, leading a deranged dude down on all fours. Down the sidewalk, with a leash around his neck.

Texas BBQ is the best... If you're 5 years old and have never left the state of Texas.
