my wife was going through the domain for some decorating stuff and i was sitting in the lounge area and a flamboyant guy comes and asks if he can help me and i say i'm good, but thank you.

he asks "you must be from Austin, right?" i say "no west Texas."

"well i knew you were from Texas at least. most of these california trash won't even acknowledge me talking to them."

never was my kind of city, but sad at what it's become.

That wasn't a leash. That was a love handle.

This is not the 1960's. I have been to austin and Starkville is better

3. It's the best BBQ city in the world.

Yes, hence a trip to Starkville is better. More bang for the buck

Compared to other conferences I might agreee, but here you will be near the bottom. Hard to beat the food in Baton Rouge or the liquor (legal and not so legal) in Lexington

DKR was better pre 80's and your AD's desire for $$$$ over average fans

Not sure if serious?

The south has some of the hottest women in CFB.
Shout out to Sophie Newcomb back in the day.

2. Traditional tailgaiting is terrible, not great.

3. It's not remotely the best BBQ city in the world.

4. It's expensive.

5. Texas fans are terrible hosts.

6. The liberal losers who have moved there in flocks go to football games in mass. That is why the atmosphere is corporate trash.

7. The airport blows.

8. It's not a college town, and doesn't have that cool college town feel.

9. DKR is a mediocre, quiet stadium/atmosphere.

10. There are hot women, gays, and hobos all over the place.

I lived in Austin for several years. It's a weird city, but also cool place.

The BBQ is better in TX. Drive South to Lockhart TX for the best BBQ. Town basically full of excellent BBQ restaurants.

The Red Mongol horde is going to rape, pillage, and burn Austin to ground right in front of your eyes.

Whenever I go through Austin, I always make a point to run down to Zilker Park and visit the Stevie Ray Vaughan memorial statue. He's standing there with his guitar, the Colorado river and city skyline to his back. Damn beautiful. Puts a tear in my eye every time.

This man has lived it and the stomach never lies. All the Deep South people coming in here talking about the small time shacks in country spots that serve the best bbq need to go on the Texas bbq pilgrimage. It will make your soul feel good seeing these good folks using time honored techniques to deliver an elite and consistent product. If you want to find the SEC in Texas, go to the central Texas bbq spots. If you’re going to an A&M game and want to experience real Texas bbq, make the effort to go to Snow’s in Lexington. It’s impossible to leave there without thinking this is a beautiful world we live in.
