Opinion 1: Aubies should quit whining and trying to change the league just because they suck.

Opinion 2: See opinion 1.

I can understand you wanting to trade A&M (against which UGA has a losing record) for FSU and Clemson (against which UGA has winning records).

If you want to pray at the Church of the SEC then go for it. That will give teams a one in 16 chance of winning the conference and some teams will never win. How long has South Carolina been in the SEC and not won the league? Do they want 2 more schools cutting into their chances to win a division or conference?

If you care more about the league than your own school and want to chant SEC SEC when your team can't play dead then I suppose expanding is the right thing to do. At least the schools will collect a good check for participation.

If you care more about your team than the league then you should not want expansion. The SEC already has vulgar amounts of money pouring in for any school to compete if they can get the right pieces in place.

Expanding the SEC means one word: Parity.

I hope you guys expand to 20 teams. Hell, Absorb the Big 12 and make a mega-super-duper-amazing conference.

IU aint gonna leave the big 10. Im from the state, they prefer being in the big 10 and being mad about SEC dominance. I will say it has more southerners than the average Midwest state

I'd like Clemson and FSU because their fan bases fit in the best with the SEC - true Southerners who are passionate about football.

I could live with NC State.

Do not want any teams from states outside the original 11.

Virginia Tech was one of the charter teams in the original Southern Conference (later renamed the SEC). So, any of the original teams should be a good fit.

Virginia Tech, NC, NC State, Georgia Tech come to mind,
quote:

On Feb. 25, 1921, representatives from 14 of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s (SIAA) 30 members met at Atlanta’s Piedmont Hotel to establish the Southern Intercollegiate Conference. On hand at the inaugural meeting were officials from Alabama, Alabama Polytechnic Institute (Auburn), Clemson, Georgia, Georgia School of Technology (Georgia Tech), Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi A&M (Mississippi State), North Carolina, North Carolina State, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Polytechnic Institute (Virginia Tech) and Washington & Lee.

Some teams are still relevant this year.
Kinda busy to be responding to off-season thread material.

How is a Midwest team perfect? We are the Southeastern conference. It's bad enough they let Missouri in. We don't need more Yankees.

Well, why not ?

After all, the second version of the KKK originated there. They would fit right at home.
