I like the guy. Great OL Coach. Very good recruiter. But has no experience as a HC at any collegiate level or for that matter any OC experience.

Pittman has an 11-9-1 head coaching record from early in his career. He was HC at Hutchinson JUCO before taking a position with Northern Illinois.

For sure thought this was going to be a PSA about obesity and diabetes. He’s clearly both.

After watching that video of him with the AD I think it’s safe to say Joe Morehead is no longer the least relatable SEC west head coach.

He looks like Matt Foley

Yep I know that. Just don’t consider JUCO in any way collegiate level.

If you do. Great.

That’s a lot of effort to convince yourself this coaching search wasn’t fubar’d.

It was fubar.

You and I left that video with differing opinions as I find him to be EXTREMELY relate-able to Arkansas fans.

I didn’t read past the “up and coming head coach part”.

The dude is 58 and went 11-8 as a CC coach.

I have no idea how Pittman will do as a HC, but Arkansas should have the resources to build a solid program if managed properly.

NW Arkansas has more millionaires per capita than anywhere in the south. Thank the Waltons (Walmart), Tyson chicken and Jones Trucking Line among others. It's a beautiful area too.

He has UGA breaking a record at the moment for O-line recruiting.
Didn't see any positive evidence of what he's done for the UGA OL against LSU on Saturday.

Just because a few talking heads were chattering on Twitter, everyone thinks we got beat for him. I see no reason to believe we went after him in the first place.

Kiffin turned y'all down. Norvell turned y'all down. Hell, the Indiana coach turned y'all down.

But yeah, Pittman was your first or second choice.

With all that wealth backing them, one would think they could do better than Jonell Smith, Bert, Chad and now a position coach as HC, right?

John L wasn’t a “real” hire.

Bert was multiple time Big 10 champ.

Chad was a bad gamble that we didn’t have to take.

What other serious options did y'all have? And why the hell are you now settling for a position coach?

I'm not trying to shite on Arkansas, but it appears as an outsider that y'all have had to settle for some questionable candidates since BP was canned.

I think it's a fine hire if Arkansas will give him a lot of breathing room and time.

If he does well sooner than expected I don't think you'll have to worry about losing him. He's competent, well connected, and apparently likes Arkansas.

I don't know why Arkansas struck out so badly with the 5 or so coaches they wanted ahead of Pittman, but quietly letting him go to work and giving him a couple years to rebuild before any expectations start isn't a bad move IMO.

Great read! I'm happy with the hire and appreciate you taking the time to write this very positive post. There has been so much animosity between Old Miss fans and Arkansas fans in just a short week. Best wishes to Old Miss and their new coach. Very Best wishes for Arkansas and our new coach.
