I wanted Pittman back on staff in some capacity the moment Chaddie was fired. He was great while he was here. He has UGA breaking a record at the moment for O-line recruiting.

After the last 8 years I will gladly take a 6 win coach for a few years. With his line play we may do better. If he doesn't pan it's not like it hurts at this point. WE have 4 god damn wins in 2 seasons!!!!

You want to get all technical with titles.... Pittman was AHC 5x, including at AR and GA.

Winning 6 games at this point will get you a fricking statue at Arkansas. Win 1 damned SEC game for crying out loud.

I like the guy. Great OL Coach. Very good recruiter. But has no experience as a HC at any collegiate level or for that matter any OC experience.

It may work out. But you sure can’t find that nugget in his resume that screams/projects him to be a good or even adequate HC.

Love for Arkansas and having been there before and having coached a position in the SEC are positives that make him qualified to be an OC but HC?

I like the guy if he can just recruit a bit better the program will improve no more head scratcher losses to non-conference foes.

But is he gonna recruit well enough to beat A&M, Bama, Aub, LSU in the SEC West?

He may recruit as well (Or better) as Moorhead.

I think Kiffin has the edge on him though.

This is their MO when they hire anybody at Arky. I've lived here for 36 years and hear it every time there is a coaching change. If you'll notice not one Arky poster on here has said "what the frick" about the hire and has criticized it. They always rally around whoever is hired. Frank Broyles was their pied piper when it came to coaching hires and they are still guilty of getting in line when a coach is hired.

Proof for making my case: They go hire a head coach from Wisconsin who has been successful with winning records and multiple prestigious bowl appearances. He doesn't win in the SEC West. Next, they go hire a head coach of only three years who has a losing record at SMU, wins only four games in two years at Arky., doesn't win one conference game in the two years and they turn him loose. Now, they hire a head coach with no head coaching experience at all with a resume of he can recruit and he's a player's coach.

In a realist's world, this is what is known as regressive optimism.

Did you only have 4 wins TOTAL in 2 yrs and ZERO SEC wins? No. You did NOT go what we just went through.
