Ill keep it short.

A&M is a different world.

The reason you read all the articles about how nice Aggies are after teams visit is because they are. Aggies are very nice people. Verging in the mind of an SEC person as nerdy.

They don't throw drinks in the air when they score etc.. but they do drink. Not as much in the stadium.

The Corp tradition - without detail the service history of the core is outstanding and compared in many was with West Point in the Services. The Corp has odd traditions but that is the same as in the service. Its different than students.

Go to college station and expect to be treated very very nicely by everybody. But Aggies love to drink beer, especially Shiner Bock.

Just go to the Dixie Chicken and Dudleys and got your country on and drink beer and eat burgers.

The stadium is loud. The cheers and yell leaders come from military tradition from when it was all male military.

So - it is different in many was. Nice people, they keep everything clean, not as wild as SEC folk. I am one of the few with jeckell and Hyde.

Not to confuse nice with wussies. Guys in Texas are large and will get mean when they need to. Fight only when they have to - not as many 9 on 1 fights. In my pledge class of 17 at 6'1" I was probably about the 9th biggest. Its a large stock of men. They are just primarily God loving, Love their country and their family and it shows.

Ill be happy to answer any other questions. but yes, you will consider it odd, but very nice, hospitably and will want to return.

If an aggie has that article Nebraska paper wrote a while back please link it.

aggies are not any niceer than non aggies. yes, they base their traditions on their CORPS of cadets because ROTC was mandantory until 1969 or so and they had a long military history. these traditions have, miraculousy, persevered into these modern times and they seem to grab their balls and brag about it. the school is mega huge now and the small corps of cadets and their traditions are like the tail wagging the dog. it really is wierd to hear a science nerd spit out terms like "old army", "fish", etc, etc but i think they would do it even if the ROTC program were abolished. in general, aggies are uber conservative and don't take kindly to changes of any kind. woe be the moderate on campus much less the liberal.

I grew up in LA and lived in Baton Rouge for 10 years. I love Baton Rouge. I love the craziness of South LA, the Gulf Coast, Mullet Fest, Florabama, etc. Aggies are as passionate about football - which is what makes it a perfect fit.

But Aggies don't understand South LA lifestyle and vice versa - Im trying to explain.

With little help from the "aggies" on this board.

But the award winning trolls are out with outstanding stuff. Like a comedian on Americas got talent.

I just try to have informational threads.

When people get me mad - Im so good at owning my adversaries they are known to cry and seek therapy. To stop this from happening they simply delete my thread to save face of the "favorite" child - whomever that may be. But it happens when they are going down.
