Lane had more talent than lsu, if and Kentucky last year and still lost to them
It's amazing how people quickly forget Lane and OM choked badly against BK last year in Tiger Stadium.

Little different for Alabama, they already had some top end talent stacked.
Weird, that's not what everyone was saying at the time.

They lost some guys for sure, but still had the #1 roster going into DeBoer's first season.
Even had a preseason Heisman quarterback.

And the same team that made Saban say frick this shite, it's not worth it.

This is stupid to even mention. Everyone's quarterback is a preseason Heisman because it's all stupid fricking hype and they name the teams they think have fans dumb enough to think it's true.

2024 LSU was more talented than 2024 Ole Miss. 2025 Ole Miss is more talented than 2024 Ole Miss.
lol what that’s not even remotely true. The only position group that’s better than last years team was running back. 2024 lsu was dogshit

Seems to be a big group of fans on this site that are fearful LSU might succeed with Kiffin as HC.
As screwed up as LSU was for two weeks when we fired BK and SW, the forces that run LSU now are in one accord. And the money pledged to support the program now is greater than at any time in LSU football history.
I have no idea if Kiffin will take our job, but he would have everything any coach needs to succeed if he comes to LSU next month or in January.

We’re talking about Ole Miss here.

Looking forward to y’all firing him in 4 years.

Ironically you Gumps are considering getting on the circus if DeBore leaves for Penn State.

lol. Sell our soul? How? By going after the best Coach available currently? If anyone’s soul needs questioning, it’s Lane’s. But I don’t think that should be the case either, college football just needs to make some changes. It’s their fault things have gotten this bad. Sure, you can point out all of those things about LK in post, but deep down, you know he’s gonna be a good fit for us. Seriously, you don’t think you would? What he is accomplishing at Ole Miss is nothing short of a miracle to be honest.

The reports that LSU is offering him 16 million a year though is just fricking insane and makes them look like total Cajun idiots.
Yet UF and Ole Miss aren't idiots for offering him the same?

What reports?
You keep saying this with no proof and it makes you look like a total redneck idiot.

I have to admit, I felt that way about Mullen, too.

Hype.
LK is viewed as a brash and flashy offensive guru. Big teams think his hype will immediately bring high profile recruits and then the logic follows as "if LK can do that at Ole Miss, he could dominate at a real football school. "

.... And? The logic follows.
Dan Mullen. Brent Venables. Charlie Strong. Tom Herman. Bill Belicheck...and the list goes on and on how this does not always work like we think it should.

Would have been interesting to see what Sayin would have done at Alabama had he stayed at Alabama. Simpson has done well, but Sayin is a legit Heisman candidate.

We could hire Kirby Smart and he'd find a way to shite all over it. Dude is completely obsessed with LSU. Best to just ignore him.
If you hired Kirby Smart I would be in awe. He would certainly be an upgrade over Miles, Orgeron and Kelly.
Many of you more vocal LSU fans are either unable or unwillingly to admit when LSU does absolutely insane things. Like the way they have handled the entire firing of Kelly. Or how they are now on the verge of making Lane Kiffin the highest paid coach in history.
No other school provides other fans more bait to troll with than LSU. And there are so many LSU fans more than eager to pounce on anything regardless of how big and obvious the hook is.
Back to your original statement, even if LSU did hire Kirby Smart, I am confident the LSU administration would find a way to frick it up within 5 years.

Difference? Lane doing it with less talent!
The NFL disagreed with the 24/7 roster talent composite. Ole Miss had the fifth most players drafted in the 2025 NFL draft.
Here were the top five:
14 Ohio State
13 Georgia
12 Texas
10 Oregon
8 Ole Miss
Ole Miss was the only one of those schools not to make the playoffs last year.
